Skate, don't know if it's been suggested before, but a really great enhancement would be buttons for starting head tracking software as well, i.e. Opentrack and TrackIR.

Save even more icons on the desktop!

^Functions are restricted to DCS_Updater or DCS Functions only.

Adding TrackIR and other Options would require even more under the hood coding as not everyone installs those apps in the same location.

It's not the apps responsibility to remind the user to launch headtracking or any external apps before launching DCS.

Good grief! Sorry, it was just meant as a helpful suggestion! Forget I mentioned it.

no disrespect intended, the app has already outgrown the original scope of what it was designed to do, however those functions (vr on/vr off/modelviewer) are already part of DCS Core.

That's fine. I just thought that the excellent way your app tidies things up in terms of icons all over the desktop would suit having a couple of icons for the apps that most people probably use when they load up DCS, but I totally see where you're coming from! (The install location issue could be easily solved by the same method as how you identify the location for the DCS installs.)

Keep up the great work!

I can't get this to recognize my build or that I have DCS installed at all, what am I doing wrong?

I opened and moved the .exe into the DCS World folder, then launched...the program launches, but it doesn't have a Build recognized whatsoever?

Hi guys, need some help/info. New Dcs user and having a blast. Using this utility to launch Dcs with or without my vr headset, all is fine. What I'd like to know, and can't seem to find an answer to, is how do I update a stable version to a beta or alpha? I'm currently on version 1.5.7.8899. I just don't understand the process. Can I update my existing stable version, meaning it only downloads the files required to update, or do I have to download the "full" program again, I'm confused. And, can I bounce back and forth, from stable to beta, to alpha, all from the same install directory? Can I go from 1.5.7 to 2.1 or whatever is the very latest from the same install directory? I come from the world of Xplane where all I need to do is check or uncheck the "beta box", and it adds or removes the files automatically. I don't need multiple installs, although you can, and I do, it's just a matter of copying the whole folder to another location. I'm on very limited internet data, and if a update only downloads "some data", fine, otherwise I guess I have to pass. I had to go to my buddies place to do the initial program download in the first place, don't want to bother him if not necessary. My monthly cap is 20gb, so I don't have much play room. Thanks for any guidance.

shifting some code around for next build likely,

identified Exception Crash when launching w/ no internet connection, as the APP tries to scan online for Version Numbers.

Anyone use the NEWEST version (I just updated it) of The DCS Updater GUI Utility to start NTTR? I get an generic error message to repair. I ran the repair and it still wont get started by the DCS Updater GUI Utility , BUT the same utility starts 1.5 just fine. Since its exe resides in the DCS folder (and is not installed into windows) I just removed it. I can start 1.5 and NTTR just fine from their RUN icons e. Anyone else bump into this?

Tried this app for the first time today and look promising.

I could offer some ideas to make it appear cleaner if they're welcome?

Opening and closing the app after the error gives no further error so looks all good now.

A glitch in the matrix?

Just noticed it no longer detects my installs, do i need to configure that each run or is it supposed to be remembered?

Possibly related to the error above?

Can someone pls clarify purposes of the A-10C and Ka-50 licence drop boxes?

Can someone pls clarify purposes of the A-10C and Ka-50 licence drop boxes?

I'm still tracking the source of this error, as I do not receive it on any of my test systems.

It appears to be an error in the Save Settings command that is set to run when form closes. Possibly File Access Error in /Application Settings/ Folder, could try running as Admin, but I'm not sure until I'm able to accurately re-produce on my end w/ debugger running.

Since that Error Occured, your folder paths were not saved, there for when you launch and close again there will be no error as there is no paths to save.

It may be directly tied to text boxes used to enter paths for installs, but I'm not sure yet, I'll Likely re-code the save/load part w/ different name to see if it resolves the error.

Simply Put, when Closing the Program,

The Following Items are Saved in a File on the App Data Folder /Users/App Data/Local/

5 text Box Values for Install Paths, Text Boxes

A10CLicense Setting Drop Down Box

KA50License Setting Drop Down box

Vid Training LANG Setting Drop Down Box

Selected BUILD Setting Drowdown Box

So If the text boxes are loading up blank they arent being saved,

What I'd need to know is if the values for the Drop down boxes are being saved or not, which will tell me it's a App.Config /My Settings Code error for the entire App Settings or a Code error for the text boxes.

As the text box save code pre-dated the rest, and may be conflicting w/ the new settings saves.

AS for "Tabs", please explain further, as Right now, the Modules are Divided by groups / menu's which would be the same functionality as "tabs"

Thing throws an error when launching DCS open alpha (2.1) about the dcs.exe file being broken. In folder /dcs alpha/bin the file is named DCS.exe. perhaps case sensitivity brings on the error?

edit: nope that wasnt it. I renamed it lower case dcs.exe but it stil is convinced the thing is broken and needs repair. If i click it from explorer, the sim runs just fine.
