Re audio. I've just fired up DCS after two months break and I've noticed some changes. Obviously there has been son work on cockpit attenuation (not only the new headset option) as well as a more directional engine audio and airflow effects. With regard to samples, the effects of an aircraft rolling on the runway introduced within last months have been further improved (tested on the Pony). There's clearly a set of fuselage component sounds now.

EDIT:

And it looks like the audio team has taken the first swing at air distortions

Negative G hearing loss and ringing

It looks like ED has started pursuing audio improvements. And it looks like Dora is the test bed. I like the direction so far. I only wish they expedited adherence to one simple rule: no sound is even close to dominating over engine cylinder detonation sounds. A stark example of non adherence to this rule is the current Mustang sound set. A hairdryer basically.

The impression I get is that the 190D9 sounds quite fierce in DCS, but not as dirty as in the 2 samples below. Love that sound:

But maybe they are just too old and worn and the sound quality is bad, too...

Diveplane´s mod comes very close - I like it

the only thing that bothers me personally is the in cockpit sound on full power, anyway to change that? everything else sounds really awesome to me.

How do I get the code out of the readme from the 4.0 zip files? I have tried RAR and 7zip, or do I need to pay somewhere?

This: zip password = dora

no sound is even close to dominating over engine cylinder detonation sounds.

Prop and maybe wind noise should be audible to some extent.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

We all hear things differently, but for me Diveplanes sounds are the best.

I confirm absolutely, this mod of the sounds I use it for a long time and it is really excellent, among other things it works without problems also with the 2.2.
