SuperKungFu Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, does anyone have any desk mounts for joysticks that I can buy and it comes ready? I'm not really a DIY kind of guy and I want something that I can easily just mount on the desk and play. I saw this website offer something similar but it's in Europe and the cost to ship to US would be too high. http://www.monstertech.de/en/product/joystick-hotas-table-mount/ Although that mount is nice, the stick and throttle mounts plus shipping would be around 232 dollars for it and I feel like that's a bit too much. Anyone have any good suggestion or links? Thanks. Edited February 22, 2016 by SuperKungFu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rogue Trooper Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 If you are using the Hawg then You need to extend the throw of the stick. As long as this mount allows that then go for it. personally I use the Gameracer Pro flight chair... works well for me. HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.
hansangb Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 But the OP clearly said, he's not looking for a DIY solution. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
hansangb Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hmm, I must have forgotten about that. But to be honest, it really is a simple build! :) hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
SpeedStick Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I ordered a throttle mount and got it last week. I could not be happier. Using it with a wheelstand pro with the warthog centerstick mount. I was thinking about ordering one for the stick to have a side mount aswell. But as you stated yourself; that price is a bit high. It's sturdy, easy to mount/detach, Extremely well made, very sleek nice design. Its exactly what I was looking for. The only thing you need to build is the plate which the stick/throttle is mounted on. Only two hex screws. Very simple. SuperKungFu Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Anyone has attempted this before? Get a clamp for the desk that looks like this: $29.95 http://www.fanatec.com/us-en/shifter-accessories/clubsport-shifter-table-clamp-us.html And then combine it with a L-Bracket like this: $34.95 http://www.altrider.com/rotopax-l-bracket/pid/398 Definitely a cheaper solution to the monstertech technology or the older Joylock Clamp System. FeistyLemur Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Stuff like this I find is almost never cheap. A good solution is to find a local machinist to make things for you. There's a local guy with a CNC plasma cutter and a full machine shop who I get to make things. The prices are very reasonable, and anything you can dream up can be made by a machinist, for a price. Retail mounting solutions if they even exist are crazy expensive. Like monitor arms which I currently would like to get, they pretty much start at 200 bucks a monitor for anything decent here. I got the face plate for my panel project plasma cut and it cost me 40 bucks and that was with the cost of material. Honestly 80 euros a piece for those clamps isn't unreasonable given the amount of work that guy is putting into them and the quality level of what he's producing. But at the same time you might not really need something that elaborate. Edited February 24, 2016 by FeistyLemur
waynetaylor55 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 I got two of these: https://www.amazon.com/WALI-C-Clamp-Mounting-Workstation-C-CLAMP/dp/B07BHXXR4D/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=WALI+C-Clamp+Base+Stand+Mounting&qid=1584663978&s=electronics&sr=1-2 and just cut and bent two pieces of .063" (1/16) diamond plate I got at Home Depot. Painted flat black.

BuzzU Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Foxx could come out cheaper than Virpil if you're in the US because of free shipping. Virpil is only $123 but who knows what shipping will be? Plus, Foxx is probably in stock. Buzz
VpR81 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 That's a really nice product. But it's close to what I payed for the warthog itself after shipping! That stuff can be easily DIY. Monstertech uses standard profiles, ITEM-8 type. Take away all the additional stuff Monstertech adds to the profile, they take more than 100€ per meter from your wallet. Google these profiles and you will see that the price per meter is between 6€ - 32€, depending on size. The one Monstertech use is about 12-14€ per meter (black is slightly more expensive, but just a few bucks). And you will need like 1 meter for both mounts together (throttle+stick). Get a cheap but effective clamp, find a local machinist that will CNC cut your plates and drill and thread the profiles for you and you will get high quality and very sturdy desk mounts equal to the Monstertech stuff for like 1/3 or even 1/4 of their price. dburne Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Quite the thread necro here... I use Monster Tech mounts both for my VKB Gunfighter MK III Pro L and my TM Warthog throttle. I use their extended mount for my Gunfighter as I have the long extension, and the standard mount for the Warthog throttle. Both very nice, and very quick to clamp on and take off. I use these daily putting on and off, very pleased. Tried the Virpil mounts but their clamping mechanism hogs up too much of desk top space. I much prefer the low profile of the Monstertech clamps.

Add a Monstertech Throttle plate and a couple of wood blocks below that plate. Screw it all together.
