My FPS is around 50-70, and offiline the performance is great. It often stutters a little when I zoom in and out, but that's it.

Online, however, I'm getting heavy stutters and freezes (up to 20 seconds) anything happens. I zoom in, I fire my guns, I launch a missile, whatever...

This makes playing online next to impossible. Am I alone with this? :noexpression:

First thing you do before you say help is let everyone know your system specs, CPU i5/i7 and mhz, RAM in GB, SSD, and video card model eg GTX780

6GB of ram is probably the reason why reflected, possibly you don't yet have an ssd?

and probly your cpu plushanubka

dcs needs good single-core performance, and even 8GB of ram is barely enough, never mind 6.

No you're not alone. Look at my previous posts.

Win 7 64, i7-920 at 3.2, gtx970, 6G RAM. Ping was below 100 and my internet speed is above 50 Mb/sec up, 10 down.

Your RAM is the problem sadly.

8GB is not enough. Unplayable.

I'll probably invest in 16 soon, then. I hope it will make the stutters and freezes go away.

Maybe with 16GB your game will last longer until the PC locks up. Sort of 1.2.12 performance.

All of this said from a 8GB user.

I suffer the same problem, stuttering that lead to death in MP. 8GB RAM here but it used to be less stuttering before numerous updates . Kinda weird, good thing is I have a reason to buy ssd. Lol :D

Yep i can confirm this, 16Gb is the way to go (sadly). Before my upgrade to 16Gb (from 8Gb), wasn't able to stay on a server for more than 30MN (or less) before crash.... no more crash since my upgrade, but i experience freezes sometimes when zooming in/out....DCS is installed on a HDD tough, maybe the culprit.

yeah, same here, thats why i said 8gb is barely enough... the game is playable... for a short time... and SSD makes a very noticeable difference.

i had 8gb 1600mhz about 2 weeks ago... have 16gb 1866mhz now...

In the mean while you can try loweing the textures to medium or low. The cockpits look terrible but at least it made it playable on my system (specs in sig.)

Thanks for your comments, I will pick up my new set of RAM this Friday. This being said there is no way I will believe this game cannot be better optimized. All other sims I play are fine with 6 G RAM. :noexpression:

I agree. I don't understand why with the same terrain/objects/etc...this game use so much RAM. The change was "only" in the API (directx9>now directx11). FPS are far better than before with the old 1.2.xx, but damn, this RAM usage is crazy!

Totally quote this. My exact words. Just one thing: after latest updates the FPS got crippled sadly, so no improvement. Also changing textures does not improve a single bit (and I wouldn't really need to lower something that looked the same before).

"add more ram" shoudn't be a way to fix that, I mean, it's the fault of ED, not our PC, it should work without stutters everywhere with 8Go of RAM !

With the last batman on PC, which was extremely badly optimised, did we said to people complaining about framerate and stutter, even with good PC "Add more ram, and change your GPU, and..." ? No, because it was the fault of the game.

And here we are in the exact same situation, we can upgrade our PC it will help, but it will not solve the problem, everybody trying to play DCS will complain about this issue until they add 16Go of ram and a SSD only for DCS ?!

DCS doesn't even use all my RAM...I still at 75% of usage

Hello Theskyline35,

The version 1.5.3. shortcomings in therms of performance I keep reading here, is the reason why I still with version 1.5.2.48726 (open beta I believe).

Although I think it's a pity that ED / DCS doesn't provide previous (or new) versions executable file download to it's costumers, other forum member mentioned that one still can revert to previous versions through the updater, link below, post # 10 :

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=162673

So, if people are disappointed with 1.5.3, why don't try to roll back to version 1.5.2 for instance ?

RAM is causing a lot of trouble to me. Being used at 97 %...(8 GB, game is unplayable). PC locks up. Yet there are still a lot more things that make the game run so badly indeed.
