I think this thread makes a good a case as can be made for no updates at all. I enjoy the progress reports too, but seeing the thread bumped several times daily just so some child can say "Wahh, it's still late, you owe me something..." It's pathetic.

I am not the first to suggest this: Could the developers open a NEWS-ONLY THREAD? The thread is only bumped when actual updates occur! The DISCUSSION thread is open for discourse and chit-chat. And yes, infantile complaining, but at least separated from the dev's official news thread. Obviously I'm describing what ED already does, so perhaps LNS could do the same.

Thanks to all at LNS who are working so hard to bring some amazing products to market. I just hope you guys don't spend a single second reading the drivel in this thread or ones like it. Cobra you are WAY more patient then I would be! To the majority of posters in this forum who keep it positive and informative, thanks and keep it up.

They have so far always created a new thread when they release a new update wo why would anyone go into an old thread looking for an update?

There's a report post button if you think anyone's breaking forum rules.

Nahhhh not to report. I see their request as valid and wonder why there isn't a news section only for this sub-forum and give LNS team access rights to post only. I wanted to see if one of these popular moderators would come in and give some feedback on the request. :)

I was eating dinner,

I agree news only threads are a good option for keeping info within easy reach, but I am sure it is up to the 3rd parties to decide that.

Thanks for responding BN. Now where is Cobra to follow up? I miss his presence anyways. :D

Hey guys. My original post from yesterday didn't really show my best side, but it generated some discussion so thanks for that.

Cobra, thanks for taking the time to respond. The site looks great and it sure got me pumped for the Tomcat! A news section there will be welcome. But I urge you a final time to also post your updates on this forum to a closed thread. The lavish and thrilling update that started this thread is now appended with 37 pages of... mostly positive and interesting discussion. But this thread is "LNS Q1 Update" not "BVR Theory and Tactics." This is the kind of interesting stuff you find on the ED forums but it should not be appended to your company's official news in my opinion!

I really do enjoy seeing the updates, screenshots etc, and it's fascinating to watch how a project like this comes together. Your generosity in this regard is second to none in the ED community. A thread with nothing in it but LNS updates makes an interesting resource on the history of the project, and presents your upcoming product in a positive light for someone seeing it for the first time. The fascinating discussions will still happen -- in the discussion thread. Guys I honestly just can't imagine why ALL the 3rd Parties would not INSIST on structuring their forums this way?!

Anyway I won't belabor the point any further. The last thing I'll say on the topic is to Cobra and the LNS crew (and to all the dev's by the way.) The next time you find the time to sit down and post a great big update, may I personally urge you to close it up and spend that time with your family and friends instead. When the module arrives, we'll be ready!

Thanks for reading, y'all.

So I have not noticed anything regarding this but I was thinking about the f-14 and the fa-18. Both aircraft have air refueling capabilities however in the current state Dcs we could only refuel them off the Russian tanker. What is the plan as far as mid air refueling. Will the kc-135 be fitted with an optional drogue receptical for the new jets or will there be a new aircraft like the kc10 specifically for those types of aircraft.

We can also refuel from the carrier based Viking... The 3d model looks quite ugly but that's OK for me as long as it gives me my fuel ;)

I was thinking along those lines also. I would love a module for the Viking and do some refueling. Not trying to turn this into a wishlist though.

Sure, now my friend if you look over here you'll see I have this bridge that I think just might be perfect for you, if you pay in cash, I'll even throw in a steep discount.

To just have this discution :

Cobra, is there any chance to have informations on the 2 other products you talked about some loooong time before (ago ?) ? :)

Seriously guys? Didn't we just have this 'discussion'?

Keep it on topic please.

In reference to the previous poster: While most of the talk lately has been regarding the Tomcat updates, some kind of comment regarding the Viggen progress and what is causing the hold-up of the official announcement would be greatly appreciated.

After all, around New Year's, that announcement was said to be only a few weeks away. Currently it would be fair to say that there have been more than a few months since then.
