Excellent video, but I think you have an error in the engine start procedure? Aren't you supposed to open the throttle to the point where the rotors start to rotate, and hold it there until the turbine and rotor needles coincide before fully opening the throttle?

Thanks for the good work though, your videos are always well worth watching.

Thanks John. Good stuff.

Would love to see a video explaining all the autopilot & trim functions if you have time.

This would be awesome. I don't even know what functions have to bind to my X55.

I am only playing this sim for some weeks.

There is plenty of info about A10C, KA50 and other aircrafts but this had been just released yesterday and I am really lost.

Oh, that might be the case. I might have missed that while doing the startup training mission. :music_whistling:

OMG, how on earth did you manage to learn all that stuff and make a series of videos about it already? :music_whistling:

These vids are tremendously helpful, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing them with us!

John,

Great video on the auto pilot. One thing I couldn't figure out is the auto-turn-to-target functionality. You speak of a heading sync button. Can't find such a button in the controls menu. Can you explain in more detail what this button is, and how to exactly turn on the auto-turn-to-target function (can it be done from an auto hover, how do you ground stabilize the camera?) Thanks!

Yeah, the button is called "SA342 Auto-Slaved Toggle" in the "SA342 Pilot Stick" catagory.

The auto-turn-to-target only works in the auto-hover mode.

Sometimes the camera doesn't ground stabilize itselfe, for whatever reason. You can notice that when you look at one point on the ground, and then move the helicopter just a bit, it won't be looking at that point anymore. I found that switching into the IR mode usually fixes the problem instantly, and the camera will ground stabilize and auto-turn-to-target works.

Best regards,

John
