Revvin Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 1 Mode - I'm getting old and can't remember all three modes
A.S Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 hm x52 3 1st normal flight controls 2nd close combat 3rd bvr -the thing is to assign the most important things (look real plane) first -and then to go for the often nessesary and quickly accessable things in hot situations (workload) the rest is personal [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
britgliderpilot Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Yes I do - normally: 1. Nav 2. BVR. 3. WVR/A2G. I only use two modes for the Ka50 at the moment, but then there's no specific A2A avionics modes for that aircraft. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Pilotasso Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 X52 here, 2 modes wich are actualy 2 sub profiles. Mode1) F-15 Mode2)Su-27/33 Mig-29A/S/G With the CH I got I only have 1 mode for all fucntions. .
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 X52 here, 2 modes wich are actualy 2 sub profiles. Mode1) F-15 Mode2)Su-27/33 Mig-29A/S/G With the CH I got I only have 1 mode for all fucntions. so we should consider 1 mode for you actually. I also use one , also becouse I only use saitek's throttle and there is no way to change mode from it... Robbie.
Disso Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 X52 here, but only use 1 mode. I never had the need for anymore buttons. Everything I need is mapped to the first mode on every single button. The majority of the keys are repeated and the same from A2A to A2G to even nav, I don't see why you would need pretty much 3 joysticks for each respective mode. rattler Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Modes I use 1 mode f-15. Only a/c I fly in lockon. Took me a while to get the right profile for x52 but works nicely now.
Pilotasso Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 changing modes when you are absolutely in a hurry to respond to a threat will kill you. Speed of reaction is key IMHO. Once fired upon or when you just seen a target pass the corner of the scope, every millisecond counts. I made my profile in a way I only need the press of 2 buttons, 1 on the stick and another on the throttle. Each button with a finger on top of it ready to react, only secondary functions, or less frequently used get to be on shifted commands or those buttons that need to move a finger from where it is. .
Outlaw24 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 1. NAV Mode 2. A/A 3. A/G Spoiler: MSI Z790 Carbon WIFI, i9 14900KF, 64GB DDR4, MSI RTX 4090, VKB STECS Mk ll throttle, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate MCG Pro w/200mm Extension, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals W/damper, Wingwin Monitors/MFD's, UTC MK II Pro, Virpil TCS Plus Collective, MSI 34" QD-OLED @240Hz monitor, Samsung 970 Pro M2 2TB (for DCS), Playseat Air Force Seat, KW-980 Jetseat, Vaicom Pro, Tek Creations panels and controllers.
S77th-GOYA Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Mode 1 - Flight/combat/a2a/a2g/nav Mode 2 - Engine start, taxi and takeoff Mode 3 - Landing That is for the Saitek throttle Only one mode for the CH stick. I use the keyboard quite a bit. I prefer the feeling of having to reach for some controls.
GGTharos Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 1. A2A 2. Nav/Land/Take-Off 3. A2G I find this a fairly good setup for the 45, allowing me to easily fly the 15 or 10, plus I only need to move the switch one position. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

brewber19 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I only use 1 mode on my CH stick/throttle....as I only fly the 25/25T (occasionally a fighter but have shifted functions for that 'new fangled' thing called radar). Also, a Touch-Buddy helps ALOT :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 487th Helicopter Attack Regiment, of the VVS504 Red Hammers
