How hard is it to make a B+ or D model.

Very very few differences.

Ultimately DCS and the few product managers kind of fail at getting these products to the cash paying folks. At some point more life blood as in money comes in or this stuff dies.

Bottom line. Better start marketing.

Let they finish the F-14A/B first, then we can talk about the F-14D.

In my opinion, the F-14D is not necessary, considering that we are getting the F-14A/B.

Actually, I prefer the F-14B, it has a great vintage cockpit. Also would be very nice if LNS could implement the SparrowHawk HUD to the F-14B.

P.S: There's no "F-14B+", just F-14A+, later in 1991 named F-14B.

Mission: "To intercept and destroy aircraft and airborne missiles in all weather conditions in order to establish and maintain air superiority in a designated area. To deliver air-to-ground ordnance on time in any weather condition. And to provide tactical reconaissance imagery" - F-14 Tomcat Roll Call

Just a new Radar, new HUD, various new avionics, new MFDs, tons of advanced targeting pods & weaponry, new sensors and datalinks and significant graphical changes.

..and the pleasure of maintaining two divergent F-14 branches.

Quick and easy! :P

Yeah, Cobra, god... you guys really need to get a move on... /s

In all seriousness, I cannot stand threads like these, perpetuated by people who have little idea about the guff they spout. Cobra, you guys keep on keepin' on - we'll be here patiently awaiting a news update! ;)

I feel the need...

What we need is a pitchfork and flaming torch filter!

Mildly amusing regarding the slight changes necessary for a B+ or D model. What is it they say about empty vessels making the most noise? :music_whistling::music_whistling:

Why not make the F-35 while they're at it? I mean, the F-14 and the F-35 are both american fighter jets so there won't be many differences anyways.

whoa haven't seen a backlash this bad since that time i tried to hit on that senior girl when i was a freshman.

Can't comment on your case but, in this thread's case, it is all fairly well deserved :).

Doubt it, too many people on here worship DCS, one bad thing is said about it and everyone loses their minds.

I don't doubt it myself. You are right on second part of you sentence, there are so many White-Kinghts, who would "defend" the sim, or any of the developers, when there isn't even an offence to defend, or when criticism is rightful. They are at least as annoying and flame war generating as people who "criticisise" without having a clue about what they are saying.

However, this is not one of those cases, and quite honestly the original post has just about zero credible content, and just another one of those like of which we see too many times every week, which, just like the name of thread, becomes an annoyance.

Anyway, this isn't going anywhere nice, so I guess we'll need to knock it off before it travels further down south, at least I'll do so :) peace all...

FWIW; I'm not eliminating the possibility of a -D module in the future. Probably something along the lines of an upgrade package for the A & B.

It is, however, a lot of work- and we have a jet lined up for after the F-14 already.
