Mig-29 S instead of 'A', Please! At least the 'S' has built in jammer.

#I've been dreaming about an unlicensed version of the MIG-31...

There must have been some point at which the lag kicked in, I wasn't around during the time a lot of things got added but nobody knows?

Notably I remember the forward observer being able to scroll smoothly right after the rework, now it's constantly stuttering.

Right around when DataLink and Mistral slots were added...but that's all we have visibility on of the changes. Not saying either of those are the definite cause of the lag.

I'm sure there's other things that get changed in a mission on the backend that we don't exactly get or need to get details on.

Ciribob already stated he's going to work backwards to find out what is the main culprit.

No worries, optimise is pretty broad! :D

I might have time to patch and test tomorrow evening but definitely by Tuesday.

Sorry it can't be done sooner.

Might sneak an extra feature in for jtac as a sweetener as well ( it won't cause lag )

A gun on top of Jtac so observer can shoot troops that spawn? :)

I love how troops spawn now. They can be a pita to find. Sometimes they run in all different directions. Its great. Ive seen troop battles which is pretty neat.

I would to see maybe a couple of groups of troops to spawn at farps that have little defense. Multiplr helis with troops to engage in ground battles

Gazzelle L bug. When you spawn in one they spawn with 100% fuel & ammo which makes them overweight. Since the spawn point aren't near the FARP, you can't correct it in the rearming screen. Is it possible to set the fuel @ %90 at spawn? The current work around is to squeeze off the gun ammo until your within you weight and balance.

Also back to the "RED has 2 troop ships and Blue has 1" issue. Example:

I picked the Oni FARP because it's easy to spell.

-Red Troop Ships = 4 (2 Mi-8 + 2 UH-1)

-Blue troops ships = 2 (2 UH-1)

If you're not going to give Gazelles troops or remove Red UH-1's, at least make the troops ships the same amount. Add more UH-1 slots to places for parity.

Dino, I'm waiting for the DCS: SSN 688 module.

As long as I don't have to stand EOOW doing multicrew on it.

I remember playing a lot of Fast Attack, by Sierra Games. Great fun.

If there ever was DCS: 688, it better be one of the old school first flight boats. None of this VLS and digital display nonsense.

Mk48s, UGM84s, and Teams. Would be kind of fun to hit Anapa with a TLAM-D. Nah, make it a TLAM-N!

We don't have LAG statistics and we just know that is present now. We should see who is lagging, what type of unit, where and why. Lag detection script could solve that part and give a good tool to gamemasters. Just calculate occurrences of rapid displacement. Simple as that :)

Posted

If you try calculate rapid displacement constantly that probably causes more lag then what one can measure.

So basically probably not possible.

*unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?

Unfortunately that would cause far more lag than the lag you were looking for... :)

Made an update on way to work this morning.

Can anyone confirm that jtac is still working and you also get extra details for jtac status now?

Haven't had time to check but it looked ok this morning.

The change should help with lag :)

Actually pretty much yes. :D

Cant make it not lag without having a way to observe the system without influencing it, which is terribly hard to do for a digital computer nowadays lol.

I deployed jtac earir today and it worked fine. I didn't notice the status part. I just seen the triggered message and smoke. I didn't read the message as it didnt apply to me in a helo.

TacView analysis could find lag occurances if output data stream has better resolution since TV has kind of datablending or smoothing. That could be a good method without extra load on processes.

Heinsenberg uncertanty principle? Too much of quantum physics. Lag is recognised by DCS gamer's eye as sudden and large displacement of ingame object, not a matter of high resolution measurement and analysis of bject momentum in realtime so by introducing treshold limits or out of trend object predicted behaviour we still can detect lag occurances by simple export data analysis done on game stream extraced data.

Blue Flag Normandy is now in testing phase and open on DCS ISRAEL.

This is a really early stage with the mission, we are still building the correct setup.

Please see the online live map & statistics - http://89.163.173.82:8080

More information about the round will be updated later on in a new thread.

Please let us know what you think!

Was there any server crash/client mass dc since 2 days ago? Or does all seem stable now? :)

I think everyone here should take a break from bitching about the setup problem blue/red....

The real problem is that blue is doing **** all when they're up in the air. When they start doing something they might get somewhere one day.
