SuperKungFu Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 well there's actually an Su-27 finished model in the 3d part in the project phoenix thread i created. Its just that its over like 75k poly or whatever and its not animated or have lods, if you can't wait, you can always try to work on that lol. But i'll wait for strikemax, plus ED seems to be building their own flanker...so in time we will get at least one. Sorry for going OT, back to the F-15. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
some1 Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I think it will be much easier and faster to finish Strikemax Su-27 and make Su-33 based on it (same animations, skin scheme, very similar LOD's), than rework those models from Project Phoenix. But you're right, let go back to F-15 in this thread :) Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Ice Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 I am almost ready to release the first version of this skin. Just waiting for Walmis to fix a few minor details
SuperKungFu Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 very cool, can't wait to get it. Very nice job. in the meantine keep posting some excellent screenshots to keep us hungry. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Deadman Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Lokin very Bad ass keep it up Ice:thumbup: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
AJ.eightFive Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Yeah, that's gonna look nice with my name painted on the side :P. I might actually use something other than D-Scythe's Bird of Prey pack for a while ;). Competition is good, I hope Mitch gets in on the action soon too. http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7623/screenshot227sb6.jpg I'm in love with this skin, it has left me pining for an AFM F/A-18 again.

What a way to return! BTW, some of the skins included in the new F-15 pack ARE Mitch's new skins, such as the USAF skins with the Eagle tales, my favorite of the bunch! T-Bone Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Here are some screenshots of the latest version. Does anyone know where I can get the fuel tank skins? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus G72GX | CPU: Core 2 Duo Overclocked @ 2.9Ghz | Memory 6GB DDR2 | Graphics Card: nVidia GTX 260m 1GB | OS: Windows 7 Home Premium | Monitor: Samsung 32" LCD LOMAC 1.0 to FC 1.12 System RIP (2003-2010) | AMD Athlon 64 3000+ overclocked to 2565MHz | NVidia Geforce 7800 GS AGP 256 MB | 1GB Kingston PC2700 DDR DRAM | Windows 2000 with SP4
Disso Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Beautiful screens man! You definitely need the new fueltank models though! Should be somewhere on this page. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=18384&page=10 Not sure if those links are to the newer skins for that model, or the model itself. Ice Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Interim release. Ive been busy and so has Walmis. Theres' still a few things that need changing on the 3d model for me to release a final version and template. However this might keep some of you happy for now. There are 2 parts to the install. Just follow the folder structure to install the skin. Backup the original f-15.LOM file before replacing. Mod and Skin 1
SuperKungFu Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 very nice skin ICE, thanks! rep inbound. But may i ask what's with the F-15.lom file? Anything different about this one compared to the old one? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Disso Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 So is that a new, upgraded model, or just the model compiled with your skin for the new guys? Howabout some screenies? SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.
SuperKungFu Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 judging by the nose, it appears to be the same model just with the skin. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ice Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 probably not in shape but how it handles the skin. Yes.

RvETito Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Those nozzles are looking trully amazing: I wish I had the same for the MiG: "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
51GRIZZLY Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted by AirTito: Those nozzles are looking trully amazing I heard somewhere they are called "Turkey feathers" :)
Pilotasso Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 No the turkey feathers are the plates that covered the hydraulic actuators wich have been removed on F-15's (for maintenace reasons). Compare F-16's nozzles with those on the F-15's (variants of the same engine). Early F-15's had them on and they looked better IMHO. .
BiggestPig Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I have installed, uninstalled and vice versa, and did everything again. But no, my walmis f-15 ain't working. Or it's working, but intakes looks strange, same problem anyone?!? Any advices? BiggestPig Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 It's ok from externals. This happens only when looking from cockpit.
