Guest Hell Sqn Protos Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 S~! I just checked all the installed files. NOD 32 says their clean, I wouldn't worry, probably a false positive.
Stealth_HR Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Unfortunatelly there's no such argument that controls these lights. We can only get wingtip and tail lights, AFAIK! Actually... Walmis, please accept this only as an idea, not an urging. Those lights on the forward leading edge roots basically have a the same function as the wingtip lights, except, as Willy P. explained, they're both red and active during takeoff. Considering one normally only has navlights on during takeoff, would it be somehow possible to clone one of the wingtip lights (the red one) and mount it on the FLE roots? I obviously don't know how the engine would handle it, but if the argument remains the same those two lights might become active along with the normal red-white-greed ones. Just my 0.02€. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Real men fly ground attack :pilotfly: where EVERYTHING wants a piece of you :D
Willy p. Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Pics of FLE root lights I think it would be a good addition to the model if someone could figure out how to get them working. I know it would be just eye candy, but it would also bump up the realism to F-15. If I had the skills (which by the way I don’t) to help this suggestion out, I would be all over it. Here are some links to a few pictures that show the FLE wig root lights in action. And there are lost of cool pics of F-15’s too …and other aircraft. I would have posted them, but I’m getting low on image space… Inlarge for better detail http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/060614-F-8260H-310.JPG http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/060614-F-8260H-302.JPG http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/060614-F-8260H-327.JPG http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/040914-F-0000C-003.jpg http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/030326-F-9528H-007.jpg http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/990329-F-2171A-017.jpg 44th_Willy p. 187 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://44thvfw.org

ViperEagle Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Kind of a shame that this thread has falling down to the 4TH PAGE. Any further ideas folks?
PythonOne Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 There's still a couple more things that needs to be done, i got this from a PM from walmis Lighter Canopy color <- dunno, tried but without much success, in model viewer it looks ok tho. Corrected nose shape (more curve near the tip) <- will do Antenna on the top of the nose <- will do Hydraulic for canopy <- dunno about that, very complex stuff. Staircase -< um, maybe Adjusted gun funnel <- done Add refueling port <- already done dude So maybe when walmis comes back from christmas vacation or wherever he is, we could see an update.
SuperKungFu Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 i sometimes run the F-15 updater from time to time, like just now, it said 4 files to download. I dunno what it fixed or how come there wasn't any announcements but its cool. Maybe its not a major release so it wasn't mentioned. Or maybe its because i screwed around with my files and accidently deleted the previous updates and needed to download again...who knows... I'm personally want to see the nose to have a little more curve like the real thing. I can't wait for that update. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Disso Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Ran the updater, said everything was already up to date. That probably was the case for you then, deleting the previous files. SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.

some1 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Thx for the update! But unfortuantely I found a disturbance of lightning. The nose looks like after a crash test. Or maybe a Russian spy hit it with a hammer. :) Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

walmis Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 lol, forgot to delete the old nose mesh. EDIT: Fixed
Vekkinho Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Um...updating in progress... ...great job Walmis, I just updated.... ...sight for sore eyes, I must say... ...those Wingroot lights are great, really something special. BTW is there anyone from ED who monitors what Walmis made, the guy is a miracle... But...what's the deal with rear belly pylons, they're still misalligned with forward ones... ...or am I missing something?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VMFA117_Poko Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 That notice between the lines should be write by font size 7. Great job Walmis.
SuperKungFu Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Very nice walmis, the F-15 grows into a beauty with each passing update. And this is a nice (sorta late lol) Christmas present. Edit: Don't want to sound picky but is it possible to increase the curve just a slightly more? Like don't curve until the end of the tip and then make a steep curve like the real F-15. Sorta like this. Oh and that small attenna on top would add to the eye candy. But i am getting sorta a line down the middle of the cone as shown here. Not sure if its due to the skin being stretch but ill look into it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
walmis Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 ok, tweaked it a little more. Could you check it please.
