sweet...are all the weapons for the MiG-21 already in Lock On or do you have to create those too? I think you probably need to make the fuel tank, but everything else should in in Lock On.

I have a very busy week ahead, so I thought of posting the little progress of today. I won't be able to post further updates before next friday.

 

 

 

Almost done with the Central Air brake ( the grey bottom bulge visible in the upper AC)

 

No textures are involved yet. The quick procedural paint is just for a change ( from the boring blue material :D)

 

And yes, I forgot to cut the 12O'clock windshield.

MiG-21 surely is a legend and many people would love to sit in its cockpit and take it for a spin. It is surely a LOT of work to get the cocpit, instruments and all avionics work (on ED's standard level) I would personally love to have MiG-21 flyable as it just looks really nice and it is one of the most widely used fighters ever BUT... people would ditch it very quickly in game(s) because it just can't compete against more modern fighters like MiG-29S, Su-27 or F-15C (which we have in game).

 

So, beasically this would be lot of work to get it going, but it would not get far I'm afarid, as being used.

MiG-21 can kick ass in BVR & WVR fight almost every modern fighter - it has very low radar signature so it can easily get within visual and it still highly maneuvrable. The last modification of Fishbed - MiG-21-93 equipped with R-77; R-73 missiles and HMS is a very deadly opponent, the only thing bad on it is 4 pylons to carry missiles.
