hughlb Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I have updated to the latest patches, released today for 1.5b and 2.0a. I am getting an extremely unstable framerate (which appears as constant stutter) in 2.0a with the 21. I'm running a gsync monitor, but this occurs also with gsync disabled. My framerate counter is spiking between 100-140 constantly, regardless of altitude or graphic settings. I have checked 1.5 beta, and this problem is not evident in that version. I have also checked my other modules, including the Viggen, and I can't see any issue with any other module. Justificus Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Hmmm, I only had time to update and do a quick test to make sure the Mig was working in 2.0 and just did an auto start with all the activity I have going on around me. I didn't notice any stutter though... Wasn't looking for it but from what you posted I would have noticed it right away. Did you try doing a repair for the heck of it and rebooting? Never hurts to try. Good luck! Drona Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I have unlocked frame rate, but standard 1080p screen and there are no stutters on my end.
hughlb Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 This is odd - definitely a problem specifically with the MiG-21. I have deleted/reinstalled license, repaired 2.0a, adjusted the settings - no difference. Every other module is buttery smooth, just the 21 is stuttering wildly. Here's the weird thing - as soon as I hit pause/break, the framerate stabilizes, and looking around is smooth. | Windows 10 | I7 4790K @ 4.4ghz | Asus PG348Q | Asus Strix 1080TI | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 DDR3 | Asrock Fatal1ty Z97 | Samsung EVO 850 500GB (x2) | SanDisk 240GB Extreme Pro | Coolermaster Vanguard S 650Watt 80+ | Fractal Design R4 | VirPil T-50 | MFG Crosswind Graphite | KW-908 JetSeat Sim Edition | TrackIR 5 | [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Dolphin887 Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Does this happen in all missions? Try to create a custom one, in air. Power through superb knowledge, training and teamwork. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sunski34 Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 not for me.. Up to 70 FPS upon Vegas, extreme vision... no stutter... But I changed anisotrop filter from 16x to 8x because I had a stutters (small and bad FPS less then 40 Strange with a 1080)... with all planes and helicopters ! Now perfect ;)
hughlb Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 Does this happen in all missions? Try to create a custom one, in air. Yes, happens in all quick missions, and if I just create an aircraft and make it playable in the editor. Happens both cold and dark, and in the air. | Windows 10 | I7 4790K @ 4.4ghz | Asus PG348Q | Asus Strix 1080TI | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 DDR3 | Asrock Fatal1ty Z97 | Samsung EVO 850 500GB (x2) | SanDisk 240GB Extreme Pro | Coolermaster Vanguard S 650Watt 80+ | Fractal Design R4 | VirPil T-50 | MFG Crosswind Graphite | KW-908 JetSeat Sim Edition | TrackIR 5 | [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Verde Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Es ED told some weeks/ month ago it is a bug for low fos when mig-21 in 2.0 is near other plane. The same was for m-2000c with open canopy. As far as i know m-2000c bug was solved but still no news on mig-21. Quick start mission for example interception extremly low fps on runway and even flying after take off. It was like that before and it is like that since the most recent todays update. Using 5.0 ghz 7700k
gavagai Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 (edited) Es ED told some weeks/ month ago it is a bug for low fos when mig-21 in 2.0 is near other plane. Nope. This is different. That bug you describe is when you are parked on the ground. This bug is stuttering in the air. I have it too in 2.0.5. I just re-entered my starforce key for 1.5 and I wonder if it somehow screwed up 2.0. I only deactivated for 1.5 and never bothered for 2.0. Does this happen in all missions? Try to create a custom one, in air. Done. No difference. Please let me know what information could help. mikpen14 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I have run into the same stuttering issue with 2.0. On the ground and in the air.
GoR-07Vlad Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I also have a problem only with the MIG. On other planes everything is smooth!
Redglyph Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Same here, the difference between 2.0.5.1648 and 2.0.5.3889 is very noticeable. Just slowly turning the head from left to right shows how much jerky this is in comparison, no matter where, on the ground, in the air, near another aircraft or not. What is weird is the framerate doesn't seem too bad, it's in the range 50 to 60 when sitting still on the runway threshold at TTR with VSYNC on and looking ahead, for example. With VSYNC off, I can look to the desert on my left and get more than 80, but the movements are still awefully jerky. I've tried a few other modules (TF-51D, M-2000C, F-86) and they seemed to show the same level of rendering performance as before, it's smooth, so this issue seems very specific to the Fishbed in my case too. I've also tried without TrackIR, with the mouse or the keyboard, but that's inconclusive since it moves faster. I'd say it's exactly the same. If there are interesting data I can provide, let me know. System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
hughlb Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 Is there any update on resolving this bug? There are a number of people suffering the same issue, and I'm sure we are all happy to contribute in any way we can. The problem is severe enough that I'd call the MiG unplayable at this point in time. So please let us know what you need from us. | Windows 10 | I7 4790K @ 4.4ghz | Asus PG348Q | Asus Strix 1080TI | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 DDR3 | Asrock Fatal1ty Z97 | Samsung EVO 850 500GB (x2) | SanDisk 240GB Extreme Pro | Coolermaster Vanguard S 650Watt 80+ | Fractal Design R4 | VirPil T-50 | MFG Crosswind Graphite | KW-908 JetSeat Sim Edition | TrackIR 5 | [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gavagai Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Bump? Do we need to post this in the additional bug tracking forum? FragBum Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I'm also getting issues the latest version of 2.0. just seems to slow down the frame updates so it's not stuttering like it used to more of a slow motion. with Gazelle and rift. Oddly enough sometimes if you pause the game then un-pause it it can sometimes come back at normal display update rates. really odd Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. R1Lawsy Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I just found after the last update it updated pixel density to 2.5... the other planes ran ok... Mig hates it. dropped it back and the performance increased dramatically.
FragBum Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I'm running pixel density at 1.0 so should be even better but it's not. :( Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Back on topic too, I don't think there's a ticket for this bug yet, which is usually the best place to report them (after a preliminary search). Perhaps I'll write one later if that's necessary but I don't think they had much time to look at all the posts with the amount of work they had recently. Let's be patient. However, I've noticed the C-101 suffers pretty badly from stuttering since the latest patch. Other modules I have like the Mirage 2000C, the F-86F, the A-10C, and the F-15C all seem fine. So, maybe a small subset of the modules were affected by the patch.

vitabutch Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I have also massive stutters in Mig21 module with version 2. It happens everywhere and looks like periodic hiccup 2-3 times a second. Other planes runs fine. Devs definetely needs to have a look on this. Mig21 is my favourite plane. Cant stand it stays in handar now/// (((
