just keep in mind that Guided weapons and TV systems (guess thats what the dome is for) requires SDK, so 3rd party dev status

You're right, the "Beach Ball" or Mast Mounted Sight is a Laser/Designator + A thermal sight /Camera as said by the manual

We need more attack helicopters. AH-1 Cobra would be a good one smile.gif
There is a mod of this as well.

Try the "G" version!

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

Hawkeye - it is not compatible with JSGME :-( I got it to load, it would let me select player on the mission editor, but it would not let me access the cockpit as pilot. Is there any way that this could be turned into a JSGME mod as well for us stupid asses (namely me?)

Already claimed by BST. I think if a new group tried to come in with an AH-1 they'd be rejected. A Kiowa Warrior with mast would be an excellent addition, finally a chopper that could lase for the fast movers.

No offense, but calling "dibs" on a project is far from actually delivering anything. Look at several dev's lists of projects that have not gone any farther.

A stand-in mod is welcomed, IMO. Especially with development times in years.

Yeah, the Cobra project was announced a few years ago. But they've been busy with Sabre, Tiger, Mig21 and Huey.

Would love the see the Kiowa (and the Cobra)

Yes but these guys are talking about making a full module, and we've seen some form of 'reserve' aircraft list with the announcing and subsequent cancellation of the MiG-23. It would seem to be a wasted effort to attempt to make a Cobra as your 'audition piece' to ED, when it is already said to be being worked on by BST, of all developers.

Still reading the manual...

Just a little question, i need your feedback on this part:

I just don't understand it, if someone have an idea, it would be welcome.

Thx

Now, that's a hudge overassumption but...

There are a few airframes in DCS that have exceptionally good quality models as for AI only units. One of them is the Kiowa. Tornado also if I recall correctly.

Just a big guess but this makes me thinking if those are not already a "thing" in TBS: http://www.thebattlesim.com/images/Vehicles_and_Weapon_Systems-13.jpg

F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all

I think priorities should be first get an Apache, and then go for the Kiowa.

Regards!

Sorry but the Apache, even if it's almost totaly declassified, it still in distribution statement C/B , so not approval for public release, that's mean the information on weapon system is incomplete.

That's make thing harder to produce a quality module, however the AH-64D is on project list along the Kiowa.

Not to mention that it would seem intuitive to start off with a lighter module for a new 3rd party developer.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

+1

very smart move getting Experience first

'controlling' the Ka50 feels like a discussion with the Autopilot and trim system about the flight direction.

From what I understand without the actual manuals at hand (but I found some poor transcripts on some Chinese webpage :) ), if the essential bus switch is in the start position, the two relays you've marked (the first connecting the battery emergency bus to the essential bus and the second connecting it to the power assured bus) are disabled. When it's in the run position (up, I presume as in the diagram), they are enabled.

The switch is used to reduce the battery load during startup if the external power is not available, I'd presume.
