Ocelotunit
Just posting some stuff that has seriously upped the hype for the Hornet (as if it wasn't already) For some reason embedding this isn't working. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOHYVUZUpYA This is one of the most recent videos I've seen of F/A-18C's operating from a carrier, lots of good traps, refuelling and strikes. Hornets Over Kuwait by Jay A. Stout Currently reading this, seems pretty good so far, will update when I'm done. Amazon Link Bogeys and Bandits: The Making of a Fighter Pilot by Robert Gandt Quite enjoyed this one although its more about the pilots and their backgrounds which I found less interesting than a war diary type of book but still worth checking out. Amazon Link Haven't found too many books by Hornet pilots, anyone got any others to recommend? Edited June 29, 2017 by Ocelotunit

bcradio
If you've not watched Jetstream, I highly recommend it. It follows a class of fighter pilots as they learn to fly the CF-18 with 410 Squadron in Cold Lake.

As well as the process leading up to time in the cockpit. Jhuss96
This book isn't strictly about hornets but talks a lot about F/A-18C's and F-14s due to the time period (mid to late 90s). A great book for anyone who wants an in depth look at what training is like to become a naval aviator. AKarhu
Not the worst solo either: h While not the best view on them, the high-alpha barrel rolls and the half-loop straight from the high-alpha pass are fairly impressive for this somewhat underrated airplane. And the same from the cockpit: Edited July 7, 2017 by AKarhu

Might have discovered the origin of the term "poopy suit," especially if a few were sucked down each intake. Jet aircraft intakes have eaten more than a few sailors that weren't paying attention.
