Is there a need for 1.5 Now that I have 2.0?

Hi Guys,

Been away for awhile and am mostly interested in the WW2 side of things. Ive gotten the assets pack, Normandy and Combined arms.

Now that I have the DCS 2.0 is there a need for 1.5? Just curious why Id want to have both for any reason?

Sorry if it seems like such a basic question.

Thanks,

Pat

I dumped 1.5.x once 2.1 hit. Just waiting for the amazing Caucasus reboot in 2.5 now. :)

If you want to fly any of the missions included with the aircraft that you own or any other missions made for the Caucasus, then you will need v1.5.

Also remember that 2.0 is 'WIP', and as such ED tend to use it for testing purposes and release things that both 'improve' and 'degrade' the experience as they see fit.

In its current state 2.0 is unusable for me as the HUD is pretty much unreadable with the current build, along with other issues such as gamma etc. As such I had to re-install 1.5.6 to be able to fly.

Not the same for everyone, and I can guarantee someone will pipe up and say 2.0 is literally the definition of flight simulation perfection in its current state, and is all rainbows and gummy bears....so w/e works for you I guess

I had to start flying 1.5 again since 2.1 NTTR keeps stuttering and crashing on me. So like Vamp said, "...w/e works for you...".

1.5 runs way better and smoother, so I kept it for non-WW2 flying. But then I ended up creating modern jet missions over Normandy because 2.1 looks that much better and I'm too lazy to switch between 2 installs back and forth. Fingers crossed for 2.5 Caucasus and/ or improved performance in 2.1.
