Lol now we know why they split.... one part is making legends like the viggen and F14A/B, the other half wanted to make crap like this... M3, I think you can know the community is somewhat disappointed...im done here hahaha!

Hahahaha having a blast at the reactions here!

If that will indeed be the module, I am quite interested in getting it.

Congrats for the initiative of bringing the first aerobatics and first pure GA aircraft to the sim.

They say its a test bed for better WWII prop tech:

Something is not right here...it has to be a joke or just a side project. Why would they need to develop a full aircraft module to test WWII prop tech? Not to mention the tech in the Eagle II is from the 1970’s, not 1940’s...

Whelp.... now we can say DCS has civilian aircraft. Perhaps that drives some civil-players to DCS. Though it sounds like a bit of a longshot.

Then again, with the upcoming 2.5, the scenery for flying such a bird is top notch...

but...

c'mon! I'm throwing all my hopes on that plural "surprises".

I don't see why there's so much anger, think of the revenue generated by civ people coming to DCS. For me DCS is first and foremost about flying, i have come to love its attention to detail so much that i can't fly any other sim, it just doesn't feel right. Is it a combat simulator? Heck yeah! but that shouldn't get in the way of non combat aircraft getting a FM that is second to none.

Actually is quite funny. However, if you want to fly civilian airplanes there's sims far better than this one. Civilian planes here are not wrong... just out of place, and coming from the ones that gave us the Mig-21 this is quite a let down

I guess there are better " civ sims " out there... i use 2 of them.. i don t need a bi acrobatic plane in a combat sim.. people come, because its COMBAT... i guess thats the reason of all those disappointment ( would not call it anger ). i you go into a bakery, want nothing more but another cake, outside is written : you will have a big surpirse soon.. and then you get a plate with salad , reason : its food also, there should be some sald with cakes...

I have a love of flying too and welcome all aicraft but if the idea was to generate revenue and attract those interested in civilian aviation, the Eagle II would not have been my first choice.

.... it will happens that's for real....

FAIL!

however, those who dwells into aerobatics servers may find an use for it...

I really don't see much enjoyment to be "felt" out of a basically free movable camera. This plane is so nimble that in a simulation like DCS pretty much guarantees no FM necessity.

Seriously... it will require how much skill to just toss it around an airfield so other players will see it and die of boredom. It is basically a F10 freecamera on steroids but with some cockpit.

Extreme aerobatics make sense in real life where you have a sense of danger and you understand the limits and skill necessary to achieve that. But in a simulation?? :joystick:

My advice for M3:

Gauge carefully the reaction from public and deal with ED for a free introduction of this plane alongside Su-25T and TF51. Get some money from ED, even slowly in couple of years period. You will earn more money and not lose reputation. Sale this at 30$ and it will rust on the shelves and lose momentum.

Tankers would be nice...but at least you can use them in the sim and it would make sence...and still fly a "civil" plane

dunno, i know the existence of aerobatics servers but never entered one, dunno what vibes are over there... i was laughing my ass off while watching the video to notice that this plane flight looks... strange

Not mine either, but it seems they are doing some sort of groundbreaking changes to the prop system and needed to have a test-bed for it. Maybe a small agile aerobatic plane met all the criteria and they thought "heck, why not make it public, we have to develop it anyway!"

I can only speculate but I believe it has something to do with the MiG-21's fixes being put on an undetermined hiatus. I pre-ordered the 21, and here it is years later and it's still broken.. Plus they teased this for months with little to no communication at all to just disappoint a good chunk of the community with this thing? Nah. I'm good.

I believe in the DCS mission statement posted by wags (Which i cant seem to find right now) specifically mentions civil aircraft.

The only thing I can think of is how sad it is that they had the time to do this but not enough time to work on the Mig-21 which I actually paid for five copies of (four were given away).
