Is it a bird? Is it a super bird?

Something is not right here...it has to be a joke or just a side project. Why would they need to develop a full aircraft module to test WWII prop tech? Not to mention the tech in the Eagle II is from the 1970’s, not 1940’s...

a) they develop their own flight models from ground up, without ED's assistance, but they've got no experience with props whatsoever. One has to create some testbed for that, and if there's some money that can be made as a bonus, than why not? They built this thing anyway. Mind you, ED's Mustang was originally a technology testbed too, only later developed into a commercial product;

b) '70's or '40s or 2048, doesn't matter - the newtonian physics remains the same, and so do propeller effects, which need to be programmed in, see: a);

I'm not going to purchase this one, but if it allows M3 to get some more experience before finishing the F4U project which I'm very much looking forward to, then I can live with that.

That being said, Rudel has outdone himself with his trolling mastercraft this time :D

I think they'd have been better off just finishing the Corsair and tuning the FM as needed. The lack of Mig21 attention and the week of teasing leading to this controversial module is just a bit too much.

To be honest though, this thread has over 40,000 views in a week. I'll bet there are enough people out there who will spend $30 for this. They might regret it a couple days later, but they'll shell out.

Hum. Actually, the roadmap has changed and they removed the F4U-1 today... so a Stuka maybe? Enough speculation for a few weeks ;)

By Stream database, add to Leatherneck (I suppose):

https://steamdb.info/app/223750/dlc/

-AJS-37 Viggen

-F4U-1 Corsair

-Iwo Jima Map Theather

I suppose the missing DLC as WW2 North France / Normandy theatre or Me-262, 2016 commit with great news and that only the begin (missing VEAO modules).

-MAGNITUDE 3 LLC maintain Mig-21Bis, Corsair and WW2 Iwo Jima theater.

-Heatblur Simulations maintain AJS-37 Viggen and F-14 Project

Just clicked on the above link and showed it to my co-worker who has a great interest in DCS World now. His response was quite simple. "WHY?"

And my response was....

To me the problem is not the choice of aircraft - I will not buy it but they are free to do what they want - the problem is the hype they built around the announcement! Just hoping that they are going to announce something a bit more exciting at the same time...

The development of the corsair does not require the creation of this as a complete module as a step.

I greatly respect you and your posts, but may i ask how you know that it what they are doing does not require a fully functioning test-bed?

Turn on subtitles on the youtube video, in the end when you hear the cricket sound it says "confused crickets"

Are the crickets used as a metaphor for us customers? They've gotta have known this would cause an uproar...

But so many things don't add up... the loading error -video... The low framerate of the CE2 announcement video and the fact that it is made in 1.5 as opposed to 2.x or even 2.5 (like every other module-video recently).

If that CE2 is able to hover by it's propeller, then I'll get it just to annoy the heck out of Harrier pilots :D

Well, there goes the hype train...

I won't buy it, aerobatics can be done in other sims, DCS should focus on where other sims don't, combat.

IMO If they went the way ED did with the Yak-52: explain how this would benefit their company, and the design of future planes, I'd be a lot more understanding. Now I just feel disappointed in the overhyping this thread has seen/caused (the community to itself, to be fair).

The people who normally wouldn't be interested in the GEII are ticked off, and some who would've considered it are now disappointed in the announcement.

This is a great day for everyone who loves to ride a bicycle on the highway.

+1

Digital combat simulator....No fsx, xplane or prepar3d. This breaks the buying line for me. Was expecting a Russian warplane. Besides this i wish the team all the best.
