FC3 is a concession to the time when that was the best that could be done - we've moved the bar now, it is higher - we should strive to bring all aircraft to both PFM and highest systems modeling - DCS should be the standard for flight simulation

if you want a "game mode" fine - but I would rather not --- to accommodate everyone's taste/preference, it would be nice to have options to specify a server that is "hard core only" (ie.. no FC3 level a/c allowed) as well as "mixed," as well as "FC3 only"

if that's what people want

I would rather not too, but I've seen people requesting FC3 type modules for more relaxed gameplay. Again just to cater for everyone.

For me personally I'd favour any PFM/ASM/full fidelity aircraft over anything less...

Modules I own: F-14A/B, Mi-24P, AV-8B N/A, AJS 37, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.

Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas.

System:

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV.

Peripherals: VKB Gunfighter Mk.II w. MCG Pro, MFG Crosswind V3 Graphite, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

yea same i have no issue with FC3 aircraft being retained. It caters to larger crowd that would fall under Lighter Simmers, the types who would play IL2 BOS or such level. In fact thats how i got into DCS after all. FC3 after the Su25T before jumping straight into the Deep end of a full fidelity module. DCS was my first true study sim Experience at that point so FC3 was good entry point.

ON topic stuff?

F-16C block 50/52 series...Obvious 1st choice for me as well.

If i had to choose something else from an earlier era? F100D super sabre followed by an A1 skyraider. Other stuff i want to see is already in development or at least officially planned ( Like the F4E)

As for some of the red aircraft. Su27SM Ed has said wont happen long long ago, and that project got downgraded to a Su27S ( which is may as well be on permanent on hold since there hasn't been any news for years) . I wouldn't expect any 4th generation era Soviet aircraft for " obvious reasons" except at best 1980s Soviet era Mig29A or similar era early 4th gen aircraft.

Another aircraft

I personally would love a Mosquito; what a wonderful plan!

Nice to see the Tornado right up there on the 'want' list.

Would be an excellent addition to DCS too. Some low alt deep strikes in tandem with the Viggens :)

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

Yeah, a Tornado IDS variant would be very cool. I also like the other third generation interdiction strike-fighters, namely the F-111F Aardvark, and in particular the Su-24M "Fencer-D". My absolute highest priority list would probably be, in no particular order:

Su-24M "Fencer-D"-Really cool interdiction aircraft, plus old enough to be a possibility.

Su-30SM3 "Flanker-C"-Obviously way too advanced for the information to be legally obtainable, but really awesome.

Su-35S "Flanker-E"-Same as the '30, but with more powerful engines, less drag, higher speed, and other improvements.

Non-combat pre WWII aircraft

I'd love to experience the Beech Model 17 Staggerwing. 1930s executive aircraft with radial engine and sublime lines.

Some Vietnam-era and late Cold War US Navy stuff. A Vietnam module with maybe FC3 complexity could include theF-8C/D/E/H/J/K, A-4C/E/F, and A-7A/B/C. Add in an AI RIO/BN and we could have F-4B/J and A-6A/B. Late CW F-4N/S, A-6E/(TRAM), and A-7E.

Most likely to happen, though, and I won't protest, is the F-16, probably the C-40 and C-52 models. It's too popular an airplane and would get tons of European and Mediterranean users, as well as possibly steal some players from that other sim.
