Lynx11 Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 thanks it is very odd, I have seen gpu drivers crash before but never seen a repeating one like this. can you attach here or send via a link and a PM your dxdiag? I will be happy to take a look at that also edit or open a support ticket with all the info https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/710/ Here your request, thx for support!dcs.log-20180429-125904.zip
shelt Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I have tried repair, clean, and delete user files. Even deleted and redownloaded the game for a clean install and still getting the errors. Seems the .dll file which throws the crash is changing. Disabled my anti virus while playing but still get crashes All the logs reference a C0000005 Access_Violation although to different .dll files As a test I lowered my graphic settings for trees and grass, from what I had after the open beta was released. Plus turned off mirrors. When it was first released I had no issues with the settings, but the next couple is where it started. If I did a clean driver install I could get 30-40 minutes before crashing in either single or MP. Then it would get progressively worse to 45-60 seconds then crash. Anyways, have flown all day without a single crash so until I decide to get off my wallet and buy a new video card with more horsepower, I seem to be fine. inexus Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I get constant crashes in the latests beta builds. Tried to lower the gpu freq. for my 1080ti but nothing that has removed the crashes completely. Agree it feels like it’s dcs that somehow pushes the card to crash. I tried several different driver versions - no effect. I tried to run a driver cleanup twice to do a completely new re-install. Not sure what to do next. I was thinking of changing the psu. I have tried this before when I had issues with mass effect (the game would do a hard reset if the reset...) but with questionable effect. Could the power draw somehow be so big it crashes the card using certain instructions at run-time? SpitFlyer Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Hello BIGNEWY This is my first time posting so please forgive any rough-and-ready formatting (like the table below - looks neat in my text-editor, which responds to tabs and spaces :)). I've read through this thread from the start and there are close parallels to my situation, but I'll come back to that later. The immediate problem is about the "autoexec.cfg" file. I can't find one in my DCS directories. All I've got in the "Saved Games directory is: ================================================================================ C:\Users\BH_Ordinary\Saved Games\DCS\Config\ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- authdata.bin ......... 1,104 2018-07-07 18:37:27 imgui.ini ................... 66 2018-07-07 17:21:12 network.vault .............81 2018-07-07 18:37:27 options.lua ............ 3,512 2018-07-07 18:38:00 Options.lua.Backup . 3,512 2018-07-07 17:13:22 Options.lua.Preset01 3,512 2018-07-07 17:13:22 Options.lua.Preset02 3,512 2018-07-07 17:13:22 Options.lua.Preset03 3,512 2018-07-07 17:13:22 Options.lua.Preset04 3,512 2018-07-07 17:13:22 Options.lua.VR ........ 3,512 2018-07-07 17:13:22 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10 files, 0 folders 25,835 bytes ============================================= I've even searched the whole of the DCS World tree: no joy! There's an "autoexec.lua" but that's in Scripts & ModelViewer. Is my installation missing something? ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 8, 2018 ED Team Posted July 8, 2018 Hi you have to create the autoexec.cfg manually Forum rules - DCS Crashing? SpitFlyer Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Hello Tried it and I can see a lot more info (DEBUG lines etc). Am I right in thinking that you switch off the extra stuff by simply removing (renaming) the autoexec file? Is there somewhere a treasure-trove that describes all these extra features that only seem to be leaking out piecemeal? I'd love to see a User Guide for behind-the-scenes facilities and "things you can switch on for extras" :-) Rig A: (New in 2019) Custom-built: ASUS Maximus Code XI; Water-cooled i7-8700K; 32 GB RAM; 2xSSD=970 EVO 500GB; Graphics Card = EVGA RTX 2080 (FTW3 Ultra); Thrustmaster Warthog; Saitek Rudder; Tracking Headset. thestardawg Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 just wanted to say this is real issue. it would be a miracle if I ever finished one campaign mission, because mine is crashing nearly every game. between track ir resetting every 5 minutes, or crashing. to now dcs world crashing constantly it's very hard to get excited about turning this on.
HawgDawg4Life Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 (edited) C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION issues Greetings, I hope this thread is active and monitored by people that matter. That being said, I too suffer from C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION crashes of varying DLLs. I use the Vive VR, if that matters. I have done some research on this, and all sources point to programs accessing parts of Virtual Memory that are off limits. I have doubled my Swap File size to do further testing, but I am reaching out to see if there are solutions that may be coming out of dev. The problem seems to be increasing. I had one issue in FEB, then 1 in APR, 3 in May, 3 in June, and now 6 in July. I will attach all of my July logs if that helps. Well, I guess I cannot attach my logs because they exceed the 9 mb limit of the forum. one log is 13 mb, the other is 20. Ok, after looking in the Zip files, in order to make them smaller, I needed to delete the trk file that was in the log. If this is needed, I dont know how to get it included without exceeding the limitdcs.log-20180722-215334.zipdcs.log-20180722-215116.zipdcs.log-20180724-224041.zipdcs.log-20180720-212145.zip Edited July 24, 2018 by HawgDawg4Life Adding Crash logs HawgDawg4life of MSFlights.net [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
