LawnDart Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 i wanna know what the recorded comm's said and if he yelled what exactly happened that second. Are you #$ kiddin' me?! Outta respect for his family and loved ones, I hope no cockpit footage or radio trans ever find their way online. I doubt there was anything said, in those few last seconds (and I have no wish to find out)... as he was attending the number one priority; flying the airplane, and/or minimizing damage and harm to people on the ground! I am just wonder, and not trying to mean my comment in a bad way. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
loveblueoval Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I know they won't see this but, I send my deepest condolanses to the victims and their families! I am amazed at the talent and the courage it takes to climb into one of these jets and do what they do, I could only dream of possessing them my self!Lt. Cmdr. Kevin J. Davis you were living My dream. RIP!
Rhino104 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 im not trying to say it mean like the way you prolly took it but i was just wondering exactly how he went down...coulda hit a bird in the meanwhile and then went down....could pulled from a turn and clipped a tree then. I am just wonder, and not trying to mean my comment in a bad way. The fact is Viper, we have no facts, and we may never know what exactly happened. What I/we do know is that yesterday we lost a great aviator and friend. As I have said to you many times before you posted these comments, that it is very improper to speculate on what has happened right now in such a public space. We do this out of respect of the family, the Navy and Marine Corps, and the Blue Angels. I hope this serves as that sort of reminder.
sp0nge Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 If you read my post somewhere above, it says some of the audience saw him clip a pine tree and then slide a few hundred metres along the ground through homes and vehicles. Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
LawnDart Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Not to add to speculation, but from the CNN video it appears problems began before any pine trees or powerlines were clipped... Likely any contact with a tree was at the tail end of the chain of events that lead to this tragic accident. Also, eye witnesses, when traumatized, often believe they saw more than what may have taken place (or in this case, presume it was the cause...). Pilotasso Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Ok its now time to ask, is there any hints of what went wrong? .
S77th-konkussion Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I don't think it's time to ask, but since you did- A few short blurbs about the jet may have had some kind of engine failure or bird strike which set in motion the chain of events culminating in the clipping of the pine tree. This could be just talking heads blabbing, but then it's easy to beleive as these guys are so good at what they do. Chances are slim he simply didn't pull up in time. I'm guessing he fought the plane in an attempt to get away from the residential area instead of just ejecting the instant he knew something was wrong. Pilotasso Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Yeah it was kinda strange how accounts seem to indicate that the ill fated jet strayed away. Bird strike would explain it. you cant fly good with an impact on your head and the vision obstructed by the remains of the bird. .
mikoyan Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 There is a video on cnn.com (it is very sad to wach)
Rhino104 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Yup. The NTSB doesn't speculate publicly. The NTSB will not be involved with this investigation since it was a military plane. The Department of Navy will handle this. A little side note, the Blues have taken next weekends air show in Georgia off of their schedule, and the show on the weekend of the 4th and 5th of May in Nebraska is being listed as TBD.
S77th-konkussion Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I *think* they "assist". They have the staff & experience and would be valuable. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
Force_Feedback Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Very sad news, and it makes it even sadder because the aircraft had an egress system. I know it's unfair to say some crash is worse than the other, but it seems always worse to me when such things happen in ejection seat equipped aicraft :( R.I.P. I always admire the care military pilots show for the people on the ground, they always place the lives on the people on terra firma before their own. That is quite a choice. rogue_blade Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 man i cant imagine dieing inside that cockpit at over 300knots or whatever they were flying. like just imagine what physically happens to your body.....in slow motion.....ughhh [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Frazer Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 If he was there with his head........ Long show, lots of G's......tired.......maybe having a bad G-resistance day......last tight turn...... But yea, you can speculate and speculate, we may never know the real reason. But it doesn't matter.....the fact is that a tragic accident happend.
