On the SA page, I'm getting a black bar over the contact information in the bottom right-hand corner. Is this typical?

I have the same issue, latest beta. How is this correct as in the real aircraft? Weird. What's the point if you can't see the NCTR print?

I too am not happy about this (in a hyperbolic way mind you  )

I don't use the middle Middle MDI so would love it in a gaming sense to be shown on the left.

Such is life :)

Might I ask why you're not using the AMPCD? Seems like you're giving up on something that I, for example, consider a big selling point of the Hornet.

I also found some DDI displays on the left under A/A.It does seem that there is occlusion.

At the top of the page, it seems that NTCR or IFF symbols appear.

1) With the Hornet using MDI buttons for things like next waypoint, radar range etc I've set up the HOTAS to use MDI 1 and 2 for a multitude of these buttons. I've just kept things simple using the 2. Even having cougar MFDs I prefere using HOTAS as much as possible.

2) "my" field of view discounts the lower MDI. Having to look down is so tiresome (again, having a laugh at myself here lol).

I guess having had a "few" years of flying simulators I've got my own setup in my head. Navigation on the left, radar/MAV etc on the right.

I know I should have the SA on the middle one, just like it on the left.

Hey everyone,

For the most part, this is entirely correct and why you need to be careful which pages you put on which displays (never HSI, SA, etc. on the LDDI).

The only really error is that if there is no active caution or advisory, then the overlay field should be removed. Note though that in order to remove a caution or advisory, the triggering cause must first be addressed, you cannot simply clear the caution or advisory.

Thanks

You really should have it on the center MPCD.

Hey, ED team.

In this real life image of the obscuring advisory strip provided by Wags, is it true that this only appears/obscures the Left DDI if there is actually an advisory? In this picture, is the data to the right of "ADV-" (does it say "CDATA" ?) something that had popped up and could have been cleared with time or by the pilot...thus bringing back an un-obscured DDI display? Asking for a friend. :)

i also spy with my little eye TAMMAC ;)

It doesn't feel ideal for me like using the center MPCD because it requires you to go heads down.

Having SA page in Left or Right DDI is in a way more preferable ( even though they lack full color capability of the MPCD) from my POV because i only need to glance down with my eyes without having to move my head to look down, therefore still easily having FOV on the HUD and still being able to observe out of the cockpit.

I dont know if its written in stone as i get the impression its more akin to pilot preference. I recall a video of a RCAF Hornet pilot stating he generally had his SA display on his left display . right display for radar page, and preferred to use center display for Targeting pod when not using it for the HSI page.

left display is just not for certain info screens..live with it :)

Remember it was designed before people were spoiled with custom options on all things.

I'll bet ya if ms windows was less customisable, it would crash less :)

Considering you can display virtually anything save colour moving map on ddi's ( which is really more of a peripheral limitation). I disagree with your assessment.Whole point of multiple multifunction displays was for the purpose so you could display what given information you wanted.

All displays ultimately let you acess all pages save for mpcd which can't display radar page due to intended programming.

If designers didnt want this then they would program the software to not allow displays to allow for given pages to be accessed if it wasn't meant to be.

And no I cant remember the last time windows ever crashed on me. It's a you or hardware problem if is regularly crashing. Windows is pretty stable OS.
