RvEYoda Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 With my Geforce 8800gtx I always get this problem with full shadows. =RvE=Fusion has the same problem with his 8800gtx: and another example. Here with AA: Dont mind the missiles. They are white(and completely invisible in flight - DAMN!) after I messed up a skin install. Now I can never see them in air. Contrail only :) S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
RvEYoda Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I went back to my previous driver set. nVidia should work a little harder. I wish that too, but tbh I don't think nvidia cares about the lomac community anymore. We're too small. (and I think that neither would ATI if they had any lomac problems) once I sent them a bug report for one of their drivers. The answer was that they did not support the software I was trying to run. EDIT: Hey Rugg: "1" and "2" look good on you :) S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
Starlight Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 After a better testing, I can say the issue is definitely *not solved* here, 7900GTO card... with full shadows it's still a mess, and in the end I still got some texture corruption (the bar on outside views, the one that goes away with YY)
ViperVJG73 Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Many thanks for this INFO! ;) Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
SuperKungFu Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 yep, also tested v162.18 and can confirm the shadow problem still persist on a 7900GS [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VMFA-Blaze Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I'm running 2 BFG 8800 OC 640's in SLI and I'm not really having any real issues with the most recent Nvidia drivers... But that's 158.24 drivers that came out on June 1.. I've been a little shy about using betas after I had to do a reformat as a result of problem betas... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
emenance Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I know this might sound totally whacked out but..........try going to the website of whoever made your video card and try using the drivers that they recommend. THEY do recommend you use thier drivers. This goes for motherboard manufactures and chipset drivers too if your having issues. VMFA-Blaze Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Ok I got tempted and installed the Beta driver... what a mess... Although I didn't have to "reformat" which is good ... But I was having some problems with the drivers shutting down momentarily while surfing... I didn't happen while in any games for some strange reason... They did increase the visual nicely though, the detail was a lot sharper, but I just couldn't live with the drivers hiccuping so I uninstalled them.. So I did get curious again yesterday and I went to see if there were any Beta updates.. So when I tried to download the Beta this time I got a program that actually scanned my system and recommended a set of very old drivers to install ... Now this I can't understand as I am running a fairly new system in SLI.... Anyway I'm going to monitor the site and see if I can get a set of newer drivers without any issues... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
SuperKungFu Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 next time when a driver messes up, rarely do you have to format your computer. In the very worst case, the driver fails and then nothing shows up on your monitor after boot up, you can enter safe mode and remove the driver. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VMFA-Blaze Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Yes this is what I actually did... Buy the way I've reinstalled the Beta again and so far things are going well... I used GURU3D this time instead of going into the Nvidia sight... Very nice ... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
VMFA-Blaze Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I'll have a 640mb 8800GTS on Tuesday. You're saying the new beta drivers work to fix the edge corruption? AHHH.. Thats a negative on the Full Shadow Fix, I repeat thats a negative ... But the there's is an improvement in other in other parts of the graphics... EX.. The hud configuration is much clearer for one thing.... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
thereminqblank Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 The release notes say that the fix is only for the 7 series nVidia cards, but from the sounds of it, the full shadow bug might not the corruption fix it is talking about. Think I'm gonna hang out for the proper release of this driver "Unholy Roller" [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/userbars/A-10C_UserBar_01.gif[/sIGPIC]

VMFA-Blaze Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 And it doesn't work with my Ati X1950pro either... Hummmmm... Now that seems to point to the fact that maybe this might be a Lock On engine issue... For me I'm not actually that concerned with it .. I've just lowered the my shadow graphic settings down one notch.... Flaming Cliffs still looks awesome with everything else set to maximum.. These new drivers are working nicely with SLI since I reinstalled them by the way ... I think were most likely going to have to wait until ED either address this issue with the current engine or releases the new engine and hopefully it will clear this up... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR

Laud Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 It's not a real problem as I put down my settings like Blaze said, just wanted to point out that it's not necessarily a nVidia-problem. hitman Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 What fixed it for me was to change the aspect ratio in the config file.
Fudd Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Beta Driver 162.22 released on 7/11/07 fixed the shadows problem for me. Vista, 7600GT The code is probaly in Russian anyway.

grandsurf Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Any news from the "full Shodow bug" and "Haze Lines" with a 8800GTX?
RonnieFrown Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Well, I didn't play lock on for a long time because of my slow machine. I just bought a shiny new rig, and here is this shadow issue that ruins it for me. I tried several drivers including the newest, but no fix so far. How old is this full shadow issue? 8-9 months?
