I’ve purchased many DLC campaigns and enjoyed a lot of them, but something that would help take them to the next level is to be able to fly them with a friend, especially with Multicrewed aircraft like the Tomcat coming.

I understand the complexities in hosting multiplayer missions and securing DLC against theft and copying, but surely there must be a way to ensure that a client is unable to join a hosted DLC campaign unless they own the DLC as well?

I would so much love to be able to fly DLC campaigns in coop! It would be really awesome if that would be possible!

Rumor has it you can hack the piercing fury campaign to work in multiplayer if everyone has the DLC. So apparently its possible to make the copy protection work with multiplayer, even if they did it accidentally.

With multicrew now being a thing in several modules, this would be an amazing feature!

I've played some great MP coop content with friends, but an actual campaign system that tracks progress, scores, kills, and deaths for all players and allows for easy coop flying would be sooo cool, and I'm sure it would expand the player base. I also believe many campaign creators have already said they'd start work on MP campaigns (be it multicrew or multiship) in a heartbeat if it was fully supported by DCS.

This really could be a magnificent thing to have!

I agree. Trouble is when ED implement a new trigger action in the ME its usually to support DLC and often just doesnt work on a server (case in point cockpit params). There needs to be parity with server vs single player trigger actions and scripting events for this to happen. Scripting usage is limited in DLC, ED don't want it being used. I remember entering a competition years back that had this excellent little 3 zone tug of war you could play in multiplayer and was told because it had scripting, its a no.

Friends, the MAD AH-64D campaign can be played in multi-crew mode. Here are some tips. And remember, this is an unofficial add-on that can sometimes cause bugs.
Create a multiplayer game and load one of the campaign missions from the root folder of the game: DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\MAD AH-64D

- the campaign must be purchased by both players
- do not choose different helicopters (in checkpoint missions)
- pressing the spacebar to check the radio must be performed by the player who started the server
- Have a good game!
