Svsmokey Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 The only thing i would want over a WH or Virpil throttle would be finger-lifts . Flummi Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Imagine a throttle, it's a beaut, something that you would describe as well thought out and well built. The kind of well built that 1k buys. Would you buy in at that price? I would. Couldn't see going all the way up to something along the lines of what Bugeyetech has out there that can run 5 digits but 1k, I would do. I was just kinda wondering if I was the rare outlier or if there were more of us nuts. So that's it gents/gals: Are you in, seriously in, not just maybe kinda sorta depends. I'm talking you would go 1k for a throttle that checked all the right boxes? Would you spend more? Simply no, thats far too much. Sokol1_br Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 The closest one would be the VKB modular one, Good point. VKB TECS approach is not an "replica" (like Bugeytech) for an semi-replica cockpit, but an desktop game controller, with best ergonomics possible for this basic use and features that attend games needs and incorporating some real throttle look/features. Basic module + front and rear expansion modules, mount support, probable became close to 1k mark. But will offer an best cost/benefit than just a "replica" of F/S-XY plane throttle. ;)

Mars Exulte Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Well, under the right conditions, yes. I mean, I paid $700 for my rudder, and $400-500 apiece for stick and throttle, not to mention a few grand on assorted other bits... However, based on my observations of things like Virpil / VKB vs the ''ultra expensive'' commercial grade bits... You're not paying for better quality. You're paying inflated rates aimed at commercial entities that can afford it, and you're paying for the largely meaningless ''FAA APPROVED'' cettification. Those commercial items are not ''better'' or ''more realistic'' than my pieces... they are simply ''approved'' whereas mine are not. As I've been learning RL flight regs and gathering experience, that is one thing I have very clearly determined. The ''flight world'' is, like many things, over regulated and a borderline racket to bleed people/corporations for every penny possible. Kinda like the medical system. TLDR, yes, if there was a point to it. However, there is not, so anyone who did would be a fool ;) Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
crab Posted March 12, 2019 Author Posted March 12, 2019 There is a work-around to getting them for home use but I'm doubtful there can be much of a market for 4 to 16k throttles/sticks; this thread is instructive in that regard.
hansangb Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 How easy is the slew mod as a complete mong at things? See this one: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3817355&postcount=674 It's pretty easy to do. And a very helpful creator that helps if you run into any type of an issue. Bought a Warthog for 450.00 and that was pushing it but after looking at Bugeye Tech I'm sure there must be a market for one, just not me :joystick:
Cake Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 If it were an exact functional replica of the F18 throttle? Yes I would. Yes, and fully functional would have to include automated thrust lever capability for simulating autothrottle. 6700K@4.6 48Gb - 1080Ti Hybrid - Warthog - RIFT
Dagger71 Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 VBK throttle/stick combo comes to 1200$ shipped to Canada!! no thanks!!
crab Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 The VKB throttle isn't out, you're talking about Virpil? VKB isn't a functional business, they have nothing on offer than promises made today that will be broken tomorrow.
Sokol1_br Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Seems that OP wishes for 1k controllers (each) will be fulfilled. :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235433
crab Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 I notice a lot of interest on that thread despite most saying they've none here. I don't want a 1k throttle BTW, I want what I want for free and they throw in a nice bottle of wine for taking so long. Since that's not likely to happen I have to figure I'm going to pay something. Right now my options are a couple outfits that offer broken promises and missed ship dates but little else, one that has an ancient HOTAS which is OK but well behind current tech standards, one that is cheap crap but works, or various toys. If I gotta pay 1k, yeah, I'll pay it. I'd be willing to pay less though, make no mistake.
