HP's Reverb VR Pro Headset

I forgot to put the lights on in my room! :megalol:

Pro tip: Inside out tracking doesn't work very well in the dark. :D

I only need one (1) brightish bureau lamp in sensors view I've noticed (and calibration be higher than sitting down level) in my case.

Yea I need to do this too. I just wear my contacts but late during the day those have to come off.

I know some point in Feb or March I will renew my contacts prescription so I'm unsure if I should wait and get my new prescription or just use what I've had since this year.

So many hours of use down now and I am very happy with the Reverb, for me it was a great choice.

Funny story. I was flying along on one of our squad nights and all was going well, then I started to have some bad tracking issues, gradually getting worse. When it became unplayable I took the headset off to discover while I was deeply immersed in the VR world of DCS it had turned to night and I forgot to put the lights on in my room! :megalol:

Actually has happened in real life. Rookie pilot takes off near dusk with visor down and later can not understand why cockpit is so dark.

Well just been flying around with the new lens inserts and comfort levels have increased a gazzillion percent. Worth every penny.

A question from another forum if I may

Guy has asked if he can run the reverb on this for DCS, I have no experience with gaming laptops but this looks pretty decent, any comments?

8th Gen. Intel® Core™ i7-8850H Overclockable Processor (2.6~4.3Ghz)

That should work, but with laptops the main concern is overheating and then throttling.

1080 is the min spec for the reverb IIRC. But I think some guys have gone lower and its worked.

So, lets just say, for arguments sake, that I somehow found $800 bucks lying around, for a Reverb. I think that's the cost. What video card would I need to _then_ buy to get performance similar to my current setup: nVidia 1080 (not a ti) and Odyssey+? (45 FPS, or slightly more, in single player and fairly simple scenarios).

Thanks ahead of time,

You can run it with a 1080 but turn settings down. I have a 1080ti and 32gb of ram and it runs fine for me. I use mostly high settings in dcs.

The Fix dosent work for the Reverb .

Gesendet von meinem SM-G973F mit Tapatalk

Today 1.9.12 is out:

Windows MR:

Fix some cases of Windows MR HMD blurriness. This reverts texture size rounding which might cause certain combinations of supersample scale and HMD reported resolution to cause blurriness in the WinMR compositor. The impact of this change may vary from user to user (due to each individual HMD reporting slightly different resolutions - even for the same make/model - and supersampling varying based on GPU / user preference).

BTW, still 1.7.15 is reported to have the best sharpness

I'm looking for a tutorial explaining how to rollback on 1.7.15

Does anyone know where I could find one ?

Pretty sure that is the current non beta version.

You must mess with the Steam console commands. It's for advanced users and I never tried it.

The ID packages to be installed manually are from this post:

Microsoft have just updated their beta plugin of Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR to 1.1.39:

  • Fixed an issue resulting in graphics-related crashes for a small number of users.
  • Fixed an issue resulting in reduced visual quality when playing some titles.

Moreover Valve have pushed another update: now both beta and release version of SteamVR are aligned with 1.9.13

Also if you had reprojection on you will need to edit the default.vrsettings file again to re-enable it.

also note that with the new Windows Mixed Reality beta, you likely need to set your Steam SS to 100% if you like me were previously on 150 or 180%

Is the HP reverb the true start of virtual reality?

Does the explosion start here?

I still do not own the driver system for my HP Reverb, it is paid and I am waiting..... it is the curse of buying the built and tested system from Chillblast..... It is not their fault! It is demand from black Friday!

I wait...... very very patiently! I research my future needs, I create short cuts and download software to an external drive!..... but I wait!

Wherever I look, some of my reference flight sim guys on the interwebs, both civilian and military are becoming converts.... the resolution is all they needed!

Does the explosion start here?

Does HP know what is going on, are they ahead of the curve?

Edited by Rogue Trooper

HP G2 Reverb, Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate as standard. OpenXR user, Open XR tool kit disabled. Open XR was a massive upgrade for me.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), 0 X MSAA, 0 X SSAA. My real IPD is 64.5mm. Prescription VROptition lenses installed. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC at the mo. MT user  (2 - 5 fps gain). DCS run at 60Hz.

Vaicom user. Thrustmaster warthog user. MFG pedals with damper upgrade.... and what an upgrade! Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height with brail enhancements to ensure 100% button activation in VR.. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound.... you know when you are dropping into VRS with this bad boy.
