R-73 shot

That sir is awesome. Also notice that you don't hear a 'whoosh' sound like in lomac, just a pop, and after that the missile is getting over Mach 1 pretty quick (7700N of thrust), do the math. So no glorious swoosh, but there is some pretty nice vibration afterwards, that is lomac-esque.

Now only if we can find the original file for frame-by-frame analysis. Laugh if you want, that's what I do when I see real time ejection videos, pretty sick if you ask me, but heck, all to discover if those sequencing specs are really what they are on paper.

LOL...so all this time, the frustration I pitted against the warping and hud jumping around and lagging, IT WAS REALISTIC!!

LOMAC's realism is beyond my comprehension!!

EDIT: Also interesting that this, I assume real pilot (has another video of his squadron), is subscribed to a LOMAC video poster on youtube as well..heh.

Could have been chaff, flares, or ECM. In addition, it is cloudy, so if the ranging was by laser, it is actually possible to get spurious results due to water particles in the air (tried this one myself using a ranging laser during rain)

what? the cockpits arent 3d

All cockpits in Lockon/FC are 3D. However, that doesn't mean that each object (e.g. knob) is 3D though.

In fact, in just about any 3D application, a lot of "detail/information" is not 3D, but "shown" through a texture (which is "flat").

Remember that the viewpoint in Lockon/FC is fixed (no 6DOF TIR which allows you to move the viewpoint) and thus there is less need to have each knob/dial in 3D. Most IL-2 cockpits are much more 3D.

It seems the Ka-50 cockpit in BlackShark has many more 3D objects, which will be useful because of the introduction of 6DOF TIR.
