Willard Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) It appears that the GBU-24 isn't tracking the laser at all, while every other GBU can track it just fine. In my attached track file you can see me dropping a GBU-24 and a second later a GBU-12, the 12 tracks the laser, while the 24 just behaves like a dumb bomb.F14GBU24.trk Edited April 13, 2019 by IronMike

*Aquila* Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) [DCS BUG] GBU 24s won't track the laser I made the same test against a plane shelter with all the GBUs useable by the F-14 B : -10, -12, -16 and -24. Among all those, the first three work flawlessly. Only the -24 has the problem. Even if I fire the laser quite soon, the GBU-24 doesn't track it and falls quite long. I run the OB 2.5.4.29167. Here's a track.F14B-GBU-24-fail.trk Edited April 14, 2019 by IronMike
Airhunter Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Currently a DCS/ED issue. Same happens in the Hornet as far as I know.
104th_Maverick Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Air hunter is correct, this is an ED issue that has been known for some time, it happens with every aircraft trying to drop the weapon, we patiently wait for them to fix it [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 104th Phoenix Wing Commander / Total Poser / Elitist / Hero / Chad www.104thPhoenix.com www.facebook.com/104thPhoenix My YouTube Channel
Goodwin Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Is the problem still relevant? i have the same problem with gbu-24
Airhunter Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Yes, the GBU-24 (Paveway III) guidence is not implemented. Like, why does ED even offer the weapon itself if it's not modelled correctly?

Pre Hornet it worked like a standard Paveway II. (I think). Eventually it will get a proper treatment so that it models more realistic Paveway III guidance at some point. Basically it's just a placeholder for now.

Goodwin Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 maybe you need to report a problem to the developers? :) or do they know? :)
Airhunter Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 maybe you need to report a problem to the developers? :) or do they know? :) They surely know as people have spammed it plenty of times already. Same with the annoying F6 view bug that got introdued in 2.5.5.
QuiGon Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 This is still not fixed? Yes Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Airhunter Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I guess we "might" see it once once it's done for the Hornet since it's on the feature list for it.
QuiGon Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I guess we "might" see it once once it's done for the Hornet since it's on the feature list for it. Indeed, the GBU-24 is not functioning properly throughout DCS, regardless of the aircraft it is being used with. It's the first Paveway III series LGB in DCS and ED has not yet implemented their guidance properly. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 13, 2019 ED Team Posted September 13, 2019 Hi all I have moved this to the general section as it is a problem with the GBU-24 and not the tom cat. It is reported, but I do no thave a timeline for a fix at the moment. Thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Notso Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 For those of you who are having this issue - when are you turning on the laser? The GBU-24, unlike the other LGBs, require continuous lase from release to impact in order to work correctly since it doesn't use bang bang guidance. I have not tried it yet in DCS, so not sure how it's being modeled.
