Each module has unique clickable items, so you'll have to do this by trial and error using both files as a reference. (Unless someone volunteers to spend an hour or two doing this for you.) Mind that the "Exterior Lights Master Switch" already exists and can be assigned the usual way. Alternatively, try contacting the devs directly (here or on Discord) and ask them to implement this in a future update. Dima | My DCS uploads
DP Spaz Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I did some boat ops yesterday, came across a few things I'm looking into a few things that I found wasn't working. Thought I would list them here as I may have missed some info posted already in this forum. - Haven't been able to get the TACAN to read the portable TACAN unit. I have seen this with other mods. - Not able to communicate with any carrier... Forrestal or Super Carriers. I've tried both manually thru the comms menu and also using VIACOM Pro. It always comes back with frequency 000.000 - Made 3 beautiful passes to the Forrestal CV-59, none of the approaches grabbed a wire, but certainly should of. Also noticed the hook and wheels sink into the deck a bit, seen this with other modules. May be an issue with the Forrestal. I will try a super carrier today and see how it goes. * Saw the post from @deeleyer about the launch bar and TACAN fixes, I'll give that a try today. ** I will create a new mission and see if these issues continue. Read about the mission file format changing, so maybe that's why i'm seeing these issues. All my missions are older ones that are years old. *** Saw @deeleyer post on the TACAN, I will comment out those lines and give it a try. **** Going to give Comm 2 a try as well with the changes from @deeleyer 1
DP Spaz Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Update to my last post. I created a new mission, and plopped a super carrier near. I was able to communicate with the Roosevelt without issue, both thru the comms menu and Viacom Pro. There is an issue with Viacom Pro, the "Select tunes radio" works, but doesn't switch the frequency on the receiver and it reports back the frequency 000.000. I can communicate just fine. I'll pass this on to the Viacom Pro team as I do some testing for them. Also, when contacting Roosevelt thru the comms menu, the frequency doesn't change on the receiver, but I can communicate with the boat. Can't remember for sure if it should switch the frequency, I believe since the receiver is not tuned it should not be able to communicate with the boat... but I can communicate. The TACAN didn't work with the new mission, but I made the changes that @deeleyer identified and no issue with receiving the TACAN now. 2

Recluse Posted Saturday at 10:28 PM Posted Saturday at 10:28 PM (edited) Finally getting some hands on time with this. Going through @Rudel_chw's training missions. Quick question if I may: - in the CCIP bombing training, it is mentioned that by default a single bomb is dropped with each pickle and one of the PB is shown on the left MFD and is referred to as the RPL setting, but there is no legend on the button. I mention this because by default, it seems that if I hold down my pickle button it keeps dropping bombs as long as it is held down. In fact, it is pretty hard to JUST release one. Wondering if there is a way to fix this so only 1 (or a selected RPL qty) drops. Might be my stick, but I can say that I used this button for every other module and it works as expected. - For the RPL qty, again I cannot see how to set this. The QTY buttons don't SEEM to do anything, but I may not have found the elusive RPL setting. Thanks!!! EDIT: I am thinking maybe there is interference from some other mod causing issues. I looked at an OLDER video (PRE-1.2) but I can clearly see the RPPL legend on the button which is also in @Rudel_chw's video from the 1.2 tutorial. Edited Saturday at 11:00 PM by Recluse

Extract the Folder VNAO_T45 into your YOURNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\Aircraft folder. NOTE your folder might be called something different (e.g. DCS_open beta) or something. If you have never installed any mods before, you MIGHT have to create the Mods\Aircraft folders under the Saved Games\DCS_whatever folder Edited Saturday at 10:52 PM by Recluse 1

Recluse Posted Saturday at 11:05 PM Posted Saturday at 11:05 PM (edited) Thanks @Rudel_chw. My problem is that my MFD doesn't show the SINGLE selection or the RPPL button. Thinking it is some incompatibility with another mod, or something odd with the install. Will troubleshoot and see what I can find. EDIT: ODD! When I reinstall the previous version, I see the RPPL button label and the ROCKET: SINGLE legend in the MFD null Edited Sunday at 12:12 AM by Recluse 1
cj43g3r Posted Sunday at 03:19 PM Posted Sunday at 03:19 PM Regarding issues landing on a carrier with version 1.2, the changelog.txt includes: Improved: Flight model overhauled -Pitch buck implemented -Max speed more accurate -Stall behavior improved -Transonic pitch transient added -Speed brake causes pitch up and light turbulence If you're landing with speed brakes, you can compensate with a single click of nose trim down. Otherwise only use the speed brakes to initially decelerate, and then use the throttle without speed brakes to land. 1 1

External model and cockpit are really on par with some paywares. But I've got a few things to complain about AOA indicator is at 8° by default, on the ground, with the aircraft steady... And in the air the readings are still shifted by those 8° (velocity vector on the horizon, pitch around 0°) On the ground, with the brakes applied, velocity vector is down around 4° (should be zero unless it's a specific behavior of the T45 HUD to show your brakes are on ) Thanks The behavior is correct. The AOA in the HUD is UNITS of AOA, not degrees. It is an arbitrary unit calculated on configuration and shows relative lift. This is a similar concept for most Navy aircraft. Check out the F-14 and it will also not show degrees AoA but Units AoA. There are also T-45 HUD tapes on YouTube that show the AoA behavior 3 My mods: T-45C Heli EFM Demo FPV Drone

If i delete one of them the TACAN works. Magic ¡¡ It seems to me that the T-45C doesn't like more than one carrier of ANY kind even if different units with different TACANS: 1) I had some old missions with both a SuperCarrier (CVN-71 - TCN 71) and the Stennis (CVN-74- TCN 74). When I added Goshawks, I couldn't get the TACAN to work AT ALL. EDIT: I realized that this mission was using the AIRBOSS script, so TACAN was set there NOT in the Mission Editor. Maybe this is the problem HERE.... 2) I created a mission from scratch with ONE SuperCarrier (CVN-73 - TCN 73). TACAN worked like a charm. 3) I added another SuperCarrier to that mission, (CVN-71 - TCN 71). TACAN worked for the original 73 but NOT for the added 71 (TACAN SET in MISSION EDITOR. NO AIRBOSS SCRIPT) I didn't try DELETING one carrier from the older missions...but I will. Note: I installed the files from @deeleyer from the DISCORD site which have the TACAN fix as well as the other fixes. As an aside, I still could not get COMM2 to work even when mapping a key command in addition to the HOTAS command in the bindings. Edited Tuesday at 03:15 AM by Recluse
RustBelt Posted Tuesday at 03:52 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:52 AM Is there anywhere NOT discord to get those fixes? 1

I uninstalled the 1.2 and got back to the 1.0.1 version, same problem. How the hell could I've miss that during the hours I spent on the previous one ? (and I just checked othere aircrafts like M2000 or F/A 18, whose AOA is perfectly consistent with the primary flight parameters...) I finally got an explanation. AOA scale on some aircraft is not in degrees but in "units", which does not refer to the classical angle between wing cord and airflow... 10700K / 4090 / 32Go / 34" curved Gigabyte / Reverb G1 / Thrustmaster hardware among other harderware things. Indeed, using the mapped Key command or the HOTAS binding for COMM2 did NOTHING. Didn't bring up the menu at all. I put in your files as they were, but here is the relevant section in case something got messed up: Quote -- Radios --DSG Radio 1&2 assignments {down = Keys.COM1, up = Keys.COM1, name = _('COM PTT - COM1'), category = {_('Communications')}, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0}, {down = Keys.COM2, up = Keys.COM2, name = _('COM PTT - COM2'), category = {_('Communications')}, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0}, Here are the bindings I set: Originally I did not have a key command, but I added it just in case. The HOTAS switch responds in the Key Binding screen, just not getting any menu in game. null
deeleyer Posted Tuesday at 01:24 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:24 PM Radio1 brings you the menu? Then maybe there's some files missing, radio2 includes some other modifications in other files. I will check the files in a fresh new installation of T45 just in case, maybe I left something when copying the files to the rar.

(and comms work fine with the Carriers and Airfields) To complicate matters, there may be something messed up in my install. I posted here and on the discord that there is missing information on the STRS-->AG MDI which doesn't seem related to any installed mods as it seems to work OK with the previous version. Angle of attack (AOA) is the angle between an aircraft's wing's chord line and the relative wind. Aircraft attitude is the orientation of an aircraft in relation to the Earth's horizon, specifically how the nose and wings are positioned in space. 8º AOA for straight and level flight seems like a correct indication. You need some lift in your wings to fly. If I remember correctly Velocity Vector doesn't work below a certain speed (50kt), and I suppose AOA indicator doesn't work without wind flow.
