Wowwwww! This skin system is super simple! For starters, I put my name on the plane:

 

 

 

The "patchwork"-idea is a fantastic solution! Working on a personalized skin now!!! I'm also reworking all my A-10 missions.

 

I must say this mod gives to the A-10 the same "quality" experience as with the T-Frog. It truly gives the sim a new life, and this upgraded "hog" quickly becomes quite addictive!

1) Open the file "\\LockonDirectory\Bazar\World\a-10-tga.cdds" with the Modman CDDSExplorer

 

2) Export one of the name_.....tga files, e.g. name_films.tga

 

3) edit this with a tga-capable editor (I use Photoshop).

 

In the Alpha channel, you must cutout what has to become visible. In the RGB-channels, you determine the background color that will transpire.

 

4) Save as name_yourname.tga (32 bit!) into \Bazar\TempTextures

 

5) Edit the file \LockonDirectory\Bazar\World\Shapes\A10.skins as described in readme.pdf:

 

You choose a slot number for your skin, and put the following line in the skin:

 

material = {"names", "standart", "name_yourname.tga"};

 

 

 

Done!

Very great Job! The problems i had in the beginning with a to low seat and after this with the black HUD are away - new install and canopy reflections reset solved the problem - THX to all who helped in the Problems Thread!

DZ23-Hocician, glad you got things working. Just a question, I see you are running on a widescreen. I can't really tell if its running on the correct ratio though. Are you on a 1.6 ratio? Just checking.

I often ask me the same question - is it the right aspect ratio... and i must tell you - i dont know it exactly!!

You must know, i often touched the real A-10 at my Home Base in Germany "JG-73-Laage" (where the german Mig-29 where flown ;-) - sorry i am proud that i was an engine mechanic on it ) and i know how an A-10 looks...

But in the game i have my problems to see what is right and what not!

 

My Problem is that i use a tool for LO:FC to get the A-10 Model working correctly! I use LOCFG and i there i have the 1.6 ratio (1600:1000) but i dont really know " does it work or not" - everything i change there is really changed in the game but i am not so shure with the aspect ratio)

When i am taxying on the ground i sometimes believe that it seems not correctly - in the air i am happy with the dimensions. U can look here in the screenshot forum - i have posted their some screens today. Maybe u can say " Yeah, that is 1.6 ;-)

the picture behind the Air Refueler is not safe - for my opinion the wings and so on a little bit to long - it seems a little bit stretched??!

 

Tell me what u think and sorry for my sometimes bad english - here we speak it not so often ;-)!

Your english is fine. I just want to give you a heads up that even though LOCFG will give you the correct 1.6 ratio, but if you go into your lock on options, it goes back to 1.3. Another way to can check is go into your graphics.cfg file in your Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config folder and open it up with a notepad. Check to make sure the top two ratio is 1.6

I played an early beta version on MAKS Air Show in 2005 at 1C and

it was amazing for me ;-) now we have 2008 and i cant play it! 3

Years of waiting is a long time ;-)

But i´ve used this or other forum only for reading news and see new pic´s.

I have´nt played Lock on for almost one year and were surprisd by these very good MODs and the great suport of this community! I think it is one of the greatest communitys worldwide! All of U are the reason that it is possible to wait for a new flight sim like Black Shark and you are the reason for me to join this community!

 

Yes, i am an english speaking (with lot of failures) Mig-29 Guy (now typhoon) who has throttled both engines to Full AB ;-) When u are interested u can see some of my Pic´s @Flickr - click this Picture for more Jet Stuff from Mig-29, Grippen, Typhoon and so on!
