What a difference between smoky Mig-29 and clear F-16

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

@Vankeken - What exactly am I looking at???

The Mig has Flare , Character , Dramatics where as the Falcon is.... Just plain ole Boring...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Why so much smoke from the Mig-29s?

joey45,

That and the fact that Falcon is adored by children and men who refuse to grow up. I loved the F-16 when I was in the 5th grade then I grew up when I saw the F-4 Phantoms.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Luck? Nope. Hard work and experience.

Would need a 100 000 € kick start first. Or abandoning all current life and leave for years of modular training. :( No chance, have thought through and it's just the money...

My girlfriend keeps sighing to babies and I to the dreams of flying :D

Sorry OT.

Some spectacularly skilled work flying in beautiful scenes. They get paid to do this? Where's my lottery luck? :(

Wow, did you see the chopper pickup to climbers at the cliff? Incredible! kind of mountain bus stop.

This should be the approved version for serial production. It has two pylons more for Igla air-to-air missiles (two missiles on each station).

Is this still called Ka-52? Is this the normal Shkval but mounted externally? Seem to be a big upgrade.

It's completely different aircraft with FLIR under the nose and also note the active IR missile defeating system turrets between the main landing.

Where did you get the info Tito?

Official web presence of the Russian Army

Welcome to 21st century! :music_whistling:

No seriously, finally a place to get facts about Russian armed forces

-------------------------------------

Switzerland received a new offer from Dassault for their Rafale, which is much cheaper because they received the final order from India.

Even though the decision to buy 22 Gripens is already official since Nov. 2011, Saab also stated they would offer a new cheaper contract (wonder how that is justified...)

But there's nothing official it was just mentioned by some spokesmen of Saab and Dassault.

The goverment stated that the decision is already final and any new offer won't be taken inot account. (?)

Swiss national radio article (German)

I don't think that the our DoD won't have a look at the new offers because the decision for the Gripen was justified by having "the best price-performance relation". So the parliament won't say yes to this deal if there are even two new cheaper offers around.

So I can still hope for the Rafale...

It might even have a radar in its nose (becouse the camera is mounted outside) and it got new MWS sensors just behind the radar housing (the same as on the Mi-28 ). Maybe it even has a RWR, in DCS: Black Shark it really sucks when you get shot down by radar guided systems...
