[CORRECT AS IS] Canopy too yellow (gold tinted)

Hi is it a my impression or the glass canopy is too yellow, I hope also ED make the normal glass canopy.

The gold tinting comes from the fine metal net embedded inside the canopy glass to protect the pilot from powerful radio frequencies, mainly the radar emissions. And as well lower the RCS so the radar energy doesn't get inside and bounce from the large flat interior.

The F-16C/D also introduced the gold-tinted canopies. These were designed to reduce the radar cross-section of the F-16, especially head-on. The concept was to present an adversary with a smaller radar cross-section so that an enemy radar wouldn’t detect the F-16 until it was much closer, and in a head-on intercept, this was critical. In the early days of the F-16C/D, these canopies were in high demand to retrofit the F-16A/B fleet, but today, many of the F-16C/Ds are trading their gold-tinted canopies for clear to operate with NVGs.

I'm curious how it looks like from inside through this golden cannopy. Is the world yellowed?

It will be yellowed from the moment you are in but after a while you get used to it and it wil look "normal".

I personally find the canopy more of a "spicy mustard" or dirty yellow than gold. It may be missing some lighting effects or something to really sell it.

I love it as is, but it does look yellowy instead of gold. I think the AI blk52 has a gold canopy.

According to Jake Melampy's Viper Guide, there have been various different tints used on the Viper. On a D you can even find differences front to back.

Gold in "general" is not a problem, and if it's the realistic one for the version that ED done, it's sure a plus, but it's don't look cool at the moment. I think it's appear to much yellow colored instead have only the "light reflection". I think ED need to write a custom shader for that to meed the today standard.

The funny thing is that the F-16 on the title screen has a clear glass. Maybe it is going to be an option later on...?

The question i would be asking is "are block 50s currently in use today?". If not, then why would ED change the simulated block 50?

The Block 50 is still in active service with the USAF/ANG. However ED have chosen to model a USAF post-CCIP Block 50 from 2007 for reasons of accuracy due to available data.

An F-16V Block 70/72 is available to order from LM, but (a) so far it's only been ordered by export customers and (b) performance details of the AN/APG-83 AESA radar and upgraded MMC will be highly classified.
