Hey there,

I love the module! Simple but rewarding. And most stuff I found to be 'bugs' was just me not reading the manual correctly 😅 I wish all DCS modules would come out like this!

I completed the training missions in one go and the way they are made are just perfect. Concise. Not too much fuzz and long stories, just straight to the point. Often times I just skip the voice-over anyway, since I read a lot faster than I can listen ...

Anyhow, not sure if its the right place to ask, but is there a way to transfer the _stare point_ of the UAS to the target point list without typing it out manually?

good job!

This module is a real treat, just a fun bird to fly. Been a while since a new release has been so easy to just jump into and have a blast. I am just amazed at the awesome audio from not having the doors, yesterday I landed next to the runway at Incirlik Air Base and watch and even more listened to F-4's take off and it brought me back to my childhood in the 70's. Could not get over the realism.

Anyway just a great job on the module.

Congratulations on the release of the Kiowa guys.

It was a long and bumpy road to get here but well worth it in my humble opinion. So glad you guys stuck with it and saw it through. Total respect.

It's a lot of fun to fly, feels really nice and looks great. Also a nice mix of simplicity of operation, lethality and survivability through good warning systems.

I bought my copy a few days ago and another last night as a gift for my flying buddy as he's broke and it's his birthday this weekend.

Big thumbs up from both of us - we'll be flying this bird quite a lot I reckon.

Another month without an update and worse than that, the polychop doesn't give any satisfaction, we're going back to the days of the gazelle.

"As mentioned before by PC, they're currently working on getting the new input system out. Bug fixes will come with time especially with the big updates to come"

In other words, something could come out next month or in 10 years.

Big shout out for the new Sounds, and just had a blast on the Afghan map, zapping some technicals, got peppered with shrapnel, but landed at the nearest FOB, checked in over, NAAA that's nothing and transitted back to Bastion. It went like a rocket, and nap of the earth all the way.......not very safety concious there.

Been a passenger on RAF Puma's, many years ago doing this, but that was great fun, THANK YOU

It's been a long time since last updated. The improvement of 3D exterior modeling has not been implemented yet. I don't know how long it will take. For a small company of three people, these updates are quite laborious.

Give them some time: they had to rebuild their team, and last update they said the new people were familiarising themselves with the code.

This is a pretty bad situation. Updates are repeatedly delayed just because of a new employee? This makes me a little pessimistic about the future development of oh-58d

Are you serious? Their entire team resigned, and recently they got one (1) new programmer and a community manager. That’s it. They still need to hire graphics artists etc.

Imagine you at work when your entire team has been layed off, and it’s just you now. And then your clients start complaining the work isn’t getting done at the same speed it used to…

Seriously, just be glad the Kiowa didn’t release in EA. It’s perfectly fine as it is now: the flight model is very very good and you have all the systems and weapons available.

Is there room for improvement? Yes of course but all in due time when they got their team back up and running… 🙄

took what...15+ years for the OH58 to be released? you're surprised that its taking so long to figure other things out after the fact? This is what DCS is; its a waiting game/simulator, not a simulator. get used to it.

It's so sad! The original production team resigned due to some internal disputes! Then the company recruited new employees to take over. It is known that a programmer has been recruited and is familiar with the work. I don't know how long it will take before he can officially take over! Then there is still a lack of an artist. The defects of external modeling are still hopeless to be improved.

As far as I am concerned, the art side of the Kiowa is on par with ED’s Hornet. Both are showing their age compared to the competition.

Looking from the cockpit of the Kiowa out to the skids, and looking out of the Hornet’s cockpit to the LERXs you see a very similar detail level of textures.

Same counts for the cockpits proper.

Both these modules have room for improvement on the art side, but neither is “hopeless”. Eight years ago both (would) have dropped jaws, so let’s not get overly dramatic 🙂

It's funny, I can enjoy the Kiowa without even thinking about the visuals, let alone outside visuals. There are VERY beloved modules of mine (Mi-8) that REALLY start showing their age and are still enjoyable. The Kiowa is leaps ahead of those.
Maybe focus less on nitpicking on pixels and start enjoy flying more?

Take inspiration from the tons of youtube videos of people having a blast with the Kiowa and not even mention visuals once.

You know, I wouldn't even have responded to this post if it wasn't for the overly dramatic choice of words. "Hopeless", really?
