The stream will be hosted by Paco Chierici, 104th Maverick and me, with guests from Heatblur and the community. Tune in to the stream and get a chance to win the new F-14 Stick (with base) from VKB! SIGN UPS Sign up is open to Squadrons and lone-wolfs, however, there is a quota of 6 slots for any one squadron per side. Multicrew aircraft (Tomcat, etc) count as 1 slot and both crewmembers have to sign up together for that 1 slot (MC signups can be done by either crewmember for both). Squadrons may sign up all participants in 1 post, but must specify participant name and aircraft for each slot (that also counts for MC aircraft). In general 1 slot = 1 aircraft. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis and we will operate a reserve list for the event of pilots not showing on the night. MISSION The Tournament format will feature a classic OPFOR style event, 36 vs 36, with A2G and A2A objectives for both the Challenger and Aggressor side. The Mission Theatre is the Persian Gulf. Mission details and specific objectives will be published beginning of next week (around the 16th of December 2019). SERVER PING LIMIT The Ping Limit for the event will be set to 250. All client connections to the event server will be monitored in real time during the event. Any client who's connection becomes unstable will be removed without warning, and only be able to rejoin upon approval from an admin. We also reserve the right to remove or not allow a client to take part who has packet loss to our server. You must check your ping limit to the 104th Phoenix Dedicated Server before registering! IronMike Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) PRELIMINARY EVENT ROSTER: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14G40ZSAj9AAUwhw7fEiSaAcNxqX7CY9t/view Please note: TBA slots must be filled till Thursday, Dec. 19th, 2400 Zulu. To fill them both airframe and pilot have to be announced. Failing to do this will remove the TBA slot and we will fill it from the reserve list. Thank you for your understanding! Everyone who is on a reserve slot: Please show up with everyone else, 45 min before the event. So far, every event we had unannounced no shows (please try to avoid that though, it is very unfair to everyone!), which means that slots open up to the reserve list. Reserve slots will be filled in order of sign up. If necessary we reserve ourselves the right to move reserve slots from blue to red or red to blue. In any case we will do our best to fulfill everyone's wishes, but we do ask you for flexibility before and during the event, if in any way possible. 104th_Tiger ("Tiger - GR_Tiger") will serve as game master in my absence, if you have any questions you can also contact him directly. IronMike Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) MISSION BRIEFING GENERAL Theatre of Operations. Operation Desert Snake. BLUEFOR TARGET AREA: DIBBA, RED GROUND FORCES BLUEFOR 1st OBJECTIVE: CAPTURE FUJARAH REDFOR TARGET AREA: RAS AL KAIMAH BLUE GROUND FORCES REDFOR 1st OBJECTIVE: CAPTURE KHASAB Situation: Tensions around the Straight of Hormuz have risen in the recent dispute between Iran and NATO. Both sides are trying to get a foothold on the southern side of the straight in order to secure safe passage for shipping. Failing to resolve the crisis quickly, will lead to a catastrophic increase in oil prizes worldwide. Red Airbases: Kish, Bandar Abbas, Queshm, Lar + Kuznetsov Carrier Group + Khasab after capture Blue Airbases: Al Ain International, Al Dhafra, Liwa, Al Minhad AB + CVG1 & CVG2 + Fujarah after capture. Red fighter aircraft start at Kish and Kuznetsov, red striker and rotary wings start at Bandar Abbas. Blue fighter aircraft start at Al Dhafra, CVGS (2x 1 stennis and 1 Tarawa), blue striker and rotary wings start at Al Ain. Red Objectives: 1.0: Destroy Secondary Objective (SA-2, SA-8, EWR + AAA and Strela) at Tunb Island AB. 1.1: Capture Khasab Airbase. Upon capture you will receive IR SAMs and AAA and will be able to rearm for air to ground munitions and IR missiles only. 1.2: A friendly IL-76 transport will make its way from Lar upon capture and deliver long range sams. Make sure it arrives safely! NOTE: Failing to capture Khasab will cause your front forces to pull back and support the capture. Your units will enter Dibba only after capture and the attrition rate due to insurgents is approximately 1 vehicle every ten units. Should your forces have to capture Khasab for you, you will find yourself at a significant disatvantage! 2.1: Protect friendly ground forces at Dibba! 2.2: Destroy enemy ground forces at Ras al Kaimah! 2.2.1: Deliver JTACs and build FOBs close to TA (transport rotaries only!). Without JTAC it will be much harder. Friendly tankers at Queshm (KC-135MPRS) and east of Kish (IL-78 ). AWACS on station north of Bandar Abbas (invulnerable). Blue Objectives: 1.0: Destroy Secondary Objective (SA-2, SA-8, EWR + AAA and Strela) at Bandar-e-Jesk. 1.1: Capture Fujarah Airbase. Upon capture you will receive IR SAMs and AAA and will be able to rearm for air to ground munitions and IR missiles only. 1.2: A friendly C-17 transport will make its way from Liwa upon capture and deliver long range sams. Make sure it arrives safely! NOTE: Failing to capture Fujarah will cause your front forces to pull back and support the capture. Your units will enter Ras al Kaimah only after capture and the attrition rate due to insurgents is approximately 1 vehicle every ten units. Should your forces have to capture Fujarah for you, you will find yourself at a significant disatvantage! 2.1: Protect friendly ground forces at Ras al Kaimah! 2.2: Destroy enemy ground forces at Dibba! 2.2.1: Deliver JTACs and build FOBs close to TA (transport rotaries only!). Without JTAC it will be much harder. Friendly tankers at the CVGs (KC-135MPRS) and south of Al Minhad (KC-135). AWACS on station south of Al Ain (invulnerable). General RULES: - Winning condition: The team that has the most ground units left at the main TA at the end, wins. - 1 Life per pilot/aircraft. Landing anywhere but on a friendly base equals immediate death. This of course only counts for fixed wing aircraft. Rotary aircraft can land anywhere except on an enemy airbase (=also death.) - When hit you must wait till you crash/die and generate a kill message, afterwars please leave the server immediately. - Transport Rotary Pilots receive 3 lives. Attack rotary 1 life as everyone else. - AWACS is invulnerable and NOT an objective. - Follow the commands of your airboss. You must have SRS. You cannot rtb, take off or land without permission. You must announce your "targeted" on GCI channel, and airport procedures on ATC channel. Your own performance is secondary to the team's performance. It does not matter how many kills you have. The objectives matter! - Penetrating Enemy SAM Cover is ill advised. Concentrate on SAMs that are part of the objective. Avoid friendly fire. - Reentry to the server upon disconnection must be approved by an admin. - Please follow admin instructions. Any dispute will be regulated by me in the last instance, I reserve myself the right to remove anyone from the event without reason. - Remember this is a friendly match. Do the best for your team, you can win prizes whether you win or you lose, but winning is still an honor! - Please show good sportsmanship. No Ego trips please, no bantering, be friendly, be supportive to both your own and enemy team. We are all here to have a blast! - Air to air weapons can only be taken at Al Dhafra, Al Ain, Kish, Havayadara, Bandar Abbas and the Carriers. Khasab and Fujarah have a limited amount of air to ground and ir missiles. Queshm and Al Minhad have only fuel. Lar and Liwa are no fly zones. - Check your loadouts. I am changing a rule: due to the large numbers of hornets/f16s: NO AIM9X (!!). No cluster ammunitions. No JSOWS. No LANTIRN for redfor F14s. Using illegal loadouts will lead to disqualification. - If you die, you are still eligible for prizes. If you get disqualified, you are not. - The first half of main prizes will be raffled among all participants at event start (the raffle will take place after the event). The second half will be raffled among all participants who survived at the end of the event. You can get drawn only once. - Stream viewers will get instructions how to enter in the raffle during the stream, in the stream chat. In order to be eligible you must be logged in to twitch. The Link to the stream will be posted in this thread and in the community news section of the ED forums shortly before the event. - All winners must provide us with an email, address and phone number afterwards, your data will ofc remain confidential. - Please note that it is possible that prizes (or some prizes) will be paid out only after the Holidays (second half of January). Thank you for understanding. - Please note that I might have forgotten something or rules might be changed before or even shortly before the event if necessary. Thank you. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
