ED has building SC API as a construction block to us them to implement Ground Crew on ships and bases and help to implement better infantry. ATC on Modern and WW2 carriers and bases, Briefing roms on Ground bases, include the other funtionality (example, control towers on bases similar to CAG station). That has not exclusive of SC payware module. That is only a example. This was a nice overview, thanks SD! Sometimes its hard to see progress, but if you read something like the "Official News 2021" topic from start to finish in one go, most would realize I am sure that the amount of progress is actually staggering. We got the mini-update on SC deck crew Sept 2021, and received the OB release barely 6 months later. 1
Beldin Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 I've been working on a Ford Class MOD. We are switching to a much better model in the near future. Ship works well as an ai asset but because DCS handles player and ai aircraft very differently and early mistakes with the model it's on hold for now as the new model is being made game ready. I was able to added the correct Ford weapons from currenthill's amazing US Modern Ship MOD. I may attempt something similar with the Nimitz class. Unfortunately to add CVN-76/77 would require a new model as others have pointed out those ships are "Reagan sub class" and have some of the planned Ford class upgrade "ideas" incorporated. I have updated spawn layouts for all of the Stock ED carriers. I will post them soon in the static unit ai forum. 2
Nealius Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 I'd like Nimitz and Ike. Carriers that actually had Hornet/Tomcat CVWs deployed on them. JFK and Kittyhawk class would be great too, since they saw so much real-world combat action, but those are outside the scope of the SC module. 4 1
ia_pro1691 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Wondering if the Stennis will ever get the long range line up lights like the other CVNs have. It got the deck crew some time ago and seems the only super carrier feature it's lacking to bring it up to the level of the others is the line up lights. DCS VFA-41 Black Aces

When they talked about mooring one of the Iowa BBs at Treasure island an argument against was it 'might' make SF bay a nuclear target in the event of war. I recall overhearing a conversation at the Alameda mall that they would never allow a nuclear reactor in San Francisco bay. I looked up and saw -65's conning tower. Eight. Next to it was -70. Two more. Invisible were Arkansas, +2, California, +2, and San Francisco was there for fleet week, +1. 15 reactors two miles away. Nothing has changed. 2

Would help with cold war scenarios too. More Cowbell VF-84 Tomcat Skins!

I'm sure the current version handles well, but an update wouldn't hurt.
