Razor18 Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Hi Guys, My TDC slew (axis) is assigned to the Warthog Throttle mini joystick axis. I just fiddled with the AUTO bombing training, where after designating the target with the chain-and-ball, you are suppose to fine adjust your TGT designator diamond on the HUD. But the TDC rate of slew is so huge, no matter how smooth you try, the diamond will jump all over the place on the HUD. But if I reduce axis curve saturation to 20 where HUD TGT diamond slew is manageable, then it is way to slow for the A/A radar cursor. Any setting where I can define rate of slew individually for HUD and for the attack RDR? They are now on totally opposing ends of the scale... Thx

TDC on ddi is perfect... HUD? WAY, out of control, too fast. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win10 64 - 32 RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC - 55 inch 4k Display

CBStu Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 One way to solve this is use two different controls. I use that funny little nub on the TM Warthog throttle for slew on the radar attack screen. I use a hat on my VKB stick to slew Maverick Fs. I have not tried to slew anything on the HUD though.
Revelation Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I find the issue is the "nipple cursor" on the Warthog. After upgrading that mechanism I have zero issues with fine and precise movement. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT

After upgrading that mechanism I have zero issues with fine and precise movement.I upgraded it as well (Deltasim slew), but the HUD is definitely still twitchy. It's much better than before, but compared to the same function on the F-16 for example, it's very sensitive. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. pimp Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 The A10C has a slew rate option. I wonder why the Hornet never got one. i9 14900k @5.6GHz NZXT Kraken |Asus ROG Strix Z790 A-Gaming | Samsung NVMe m.2 990 Pro 2TB | 64GB DDR5 6400MHz EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra | PiMAX CRYSTAL LIGHT | HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Flight Pedals
Razor18 Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 I find the issue is the "nipple cursor" on the Warthog. After upgrading that mechanism I have zero issues with fine and precise movement. It's not about precision, it is about totally different slew rates on two displays using the same control. Did you have better results when you tried to slew TDC both on HUD and then on RDR?
Razor18 Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 The A10C has a slew rate option. I wonder why the Hornet never got one. Totally true, but in the A-10C there is not so dramatic difference between the two deafult slew rate either. It is not like one is "ten times" faster than the other...

Harker Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Which upgrade? Just curious...https://deltasimelectronics.com/products/thumbstick-slew-sensor-adapter Replaces the Warthog's mini-stick on the throttle. It's pretty easy to install and honestly, it's such an improvement. I just don't understand why the Warthog doesn't come with something like that by default.
