cannot reproduce Spitfire Comms Menu

I cant seem to get it to show up when airborne, only when i am on the deck , unless i press and map the PTT button? Anyone else ?

Well, with realistic comms enabled that's how it's supposed to be in all aircraft in DCS (and has been like this for years). PTT command is the way to go.

Odd, it wasn’t like that yesterday, and it’s not like that in the f-18, the f-14, the f-5... where a simple press of the / will allow the COMMS Menu to appear even on realistic comms

In P-51 was like this, since i can remember, apparently ED lined up spitfire radio with p-51.

No a big deal anyway.

Confirm, it's been like this "always". While on ground you can "talk" to ground crew directly, without radio I think is the idea.

no Spitfire COMMS menu in the air with \ on the keyboard or the bound switch

Tested opening COMM menu Spitfire & P-51.

Note, radio on or off doesn't matter for opening COMM menu. But the menu do other things then radio, so that makes sense. EasyComm off.

 

Offline mission (homemade, just spawn Batumi).

Ground: Both PTT and "/" works.

Air: PTT works and "/" doesn't.

 

Online.

Hoggit training server.

Ground: Both PTT and "/" works.

Air: PTT works and "/" doesn't.

 

Aerobatics Server.

Ground: "/" works, PTT doesn't

Air: "/" works, PTT doesn't.

Guessing EasyComm is set this server.

Its all based on server and mission settings, I don't think this is a DCS issue, PTT doesn't work with Easy Comms, It does without it.

I know this thread is old, but as others have said, there is no issue here.  The Comms menu is only for use on the ground. You need to use PTT in-air.

For me on 2.7 the comms menu works in the air. I need to make sure I'm on the same radio channel, but other than that it works fine. I can issue orders to wingmen at least, haven't tried ATC. Using "non game" (i.e. sim) mode.

Even if it does work, why do you want to use it in the air?  Push to talk is the way.

The fact is, I just got this plane a few days ago, so I'm still a total noob. I still just spend most of my time flying around gawking at this beautiful plane! The only other modules I own are FC3 and the Ka-50, so I haven't learned PTT yet. Can you point me to a good resource for beginners maybe? Thanks!

the issue is when trying to access F10 menu options during missions. spawning random enemies etc even in the QM theres easy/med/hard mission options to use when you are already in the air
