speed-of-heat Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 On the way back to the carrier, i was on barometric hold, and atc as i was setting up the jet for landing, i look out and my wingman was right on my wing in finger tip, very cool , i thought.. anyway then he starts bouncing up and down like 30 to 50 ft up and down, and then he stabilises ... then im back in the pit setting up the brc course and black pit... and then i look outside, both me and my wingman are down... a wing each (so i eject) 1) is this an AI fail or did i do something wrong? 2) why the heck did i get done for friendly fire SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
RAF_JAGUAR Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 AI being their usual dumb stupid selves, like others i only use them well away from me. I check back now and then to see if they are still as stupid, apparently they still are! :music_whistling: How much longer, Ops? The engine’s overheating and so am I. We either stand down or blow up. Which do you want? :pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:

I check back now and then to see if they are still as stupid, apparently they still are! :music_whistling: Yes they are. I "love" the one where just as I'm lining up for a landing, the wing man zooms right past me at high speed. Scared the s*** out of me the first time it happened. Same happens at airports too. ... Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) I have also noticed. It occurs randomly and is usually point 4 of a group of four components. It begins to rise and fall abruptly until it collides. Every time it has happened to me and I've tried to play it, the track doesn't show anything like it does due to timing issues. Point 4 has a hard time catching up with the rest of the group in formation because of the catapult delay and I suspect that somehow influences their timing. Nealius Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 It is up to the mission designer to keep the six pack clear, makes sure there are spawn locations free otherwise the six pack will be used. Or allow the mission designer to choose spawn locations in the Mission Editor. The spawn locations of aircraft at the moment is some black-magic algorithm that spawns certain aircraft in certain places under certain deck conditions that are, to the users, completely uncertain.
9thHunt Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 that happens to me all the time. I'll spawn in the six pack, and two starts moving almost immediately after I do. If I'm not fast enough, he'll cut me off before I get to the cat.
