I sent RedKite one of the first missions of my upcoming 'Fear the Bones!' campaign, and he made an awesome preview video of it. His video editing skills are truly phenomenal. It's basically finished, it just needs the "A" model to be released. In the video, the F-14B acts as a placeholder.

As you can see in this preview, this campaign is heavily story driven and at times quite 'Hollywood'. It's meant to entertain, and I hope it will bring you right back to the spring of 1989. This mission is one of the easy ones, just before things get ugly between the USA and the USSR.

Enjoy!

Nice video, must be good campaign, Im looking forward to try it... But small talk about someones mother - it's a bit beyond jokes and small talk. Looks like there's Dota2 session, not the Cold War midair episode.

Its just a little moment. Mission looks promising and great.

Hello Reflected,

thank you, that is looking very good. I like how you captured the cold war atmosphere with the bear escorting and photo ops:) and the story driven background.

Can somewhat relate to Fuertes comment about the strong language ,but different people different tastes.

Wanted to ask, will this be supercarrier- only? or is there going to be a version for people with the standard Stennis carrier too?

Looking forward to this and even more towards your Zone 5 training campaign :))

Thanks and regards,

I’ll try to make a Stennis version too, but I’m not sure it will work due to its limitations. This campaign is meant to be a bit like an 80s movie, or a comic book. There will be some coarse language, jokes, sometimes bad ones. Not everyone will like them, but that’s life. I could have made the player fly next to the Bear in silence for 10 minutes. I chose a different path.

I really wish ED would change the campaign integration in DCS, so that it would be possible to have coop DLC campaigns as well. Especially with aircraft like the F-14, where the campaign wouldn't have to be changed at all for coop as you could fly with your buddy in the same aircraft. This would be so much more fun if it could be played with a buddy in the rear seat... :(

As stated in the video, this will be a possibility in this campaign. You'll be able to fly it with a buddy.

Damn, really? I'm sorry, I haven't watched the video as I don't want to get spoiled and knowing your work I belive that this will be a great campaign without having seen a preview :)

So how does this work? AFAIK you can only play DLC campaigns through the Campaign menu in DCS, which doesn't give you any option for multiplayer

The player's aircraft will be set to "client". So you can go to the "mods/campaigns/...etc" folder, open the next mission, and start a multiplayer server for your friend to join. I don't think it will be counted as a campaign, then, rather a set of missions, but I don't think that matters either.

I see, that's a pretty smooth solution and great to hear

In that case I'm really looking forward to enjoy this campaign in coop! Thanks a lot for making this possible!

Reflected,

would highly appreciate a Stennis version if possible somehow, even if some of the functionality or atmosphere is lost compared to the SC version. I understand the difficulties for you and the limitations of the default Stennis are an issue with ED, but in my opinion the need for additional purchases to use something entirely else should be limited as much as possible.

Its bad enough that most of the WWII stuff is behind the WWII assets paywall already.

I'm getting that its not always possible, i.e. campaigns on paid maps etc. But with the carrier I would appreciate if people would not have to purchase that, just to enjoy your campaign.

Just my 50cents, respecting other opinions on this too.

Regards,

Finally a campaign from you for a module that I own and love! (Viggen? :helpsmilie:)

And "Hollywood" sounds great, love story driven!

Will there be something like a TARPS RECON style mission?

Just one ping would be enough, Vasili...

No TARPS mission, this is for the "A" model, set in the late 80s.

The A flew with TARPS in the mid and late 80s ;)

Saw that yesterday, and it looks promising! I can't wait for the F-14A...

Only downside so far is the voice acting at the beginning. I'm sorry, but I cannot find any other way to describe it except for... really bad. If this was a possibility, I would prefer having no voice-over and text only, I found it detracting a lot to the global quality of what I saw.

I remember Red Kite saying that you will have the option of using a human RIO, but I don't recall anything about a wingman.

Is it possible to have your buddy as a Dash 2?

Can't pretend fly as well as you can.

Don't change it. If someone is "offended", they can play something else.

Negative, Ghostrider...

Yeah, I won’t change it, it’s meant to be a bit of 80s cliche in a good way (like Stranger Things). If someone doesn’t like it, they can play my realistic Topgun campaign that’s probably coming out even before this one.
