WHOGX5 Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 It would be nice to spawn with wheel chocks in from the start like in real life, rather than have to add them yourself every single flight. 5 -Col. Russ Everts opinion on surface-to-air missiles: "It makes you feel a little better if it's coming for one of your buddies. However, if it's coming for you, it doesn't make you feel too good, but it does rearrange your priorities." SpaceMonkey037 Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Indeed. Any crew chief that messes up the chocks should be fired. There would be a lot of unemployed crew chiefs in dcs. It is outrageous that we spawn without chocks. This should be changed asap. 2
Emmy Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Not to mention the Beer Penalty imposed for rolling over the chocks! 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com

Terzi Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Parking Brake Parking brake goes off immediately when you touch the throttle to check EPU and SEC. 2 [CENTER] [/CENTER]
Emmy Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Parking brake goes off immediately when you touch the throttle to check EPU and SEC. But you can hold the brakes yourself for that 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
randomTOTEN Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Why are you running the engine up against the brakes during an INS alignment?
Terzi Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 You set the parking brake on, and it goes off before you start INS. I didn't say that I use throttle during INS. Well they made chocks because it is useful. 1 [CENTER] [/CENTER]
Red Dog Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I would second this request for implementation. It's quite 'unrealistic' to have a cold aircraft unchocked. And it impacts the routine of pilots who wants to follow real life procedure to start the F-16. 3 Have a Bandit Day Red Dog [sIGPIC] http://www.ravico.com/ST/perso/Sig_generale.png [/sIGPIC]
Deano87 Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Agreed. Bananabrai Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 In the Mirage 2000 it is already like this, you get chocks on spawn. I would also really like this feature for the Viper 2 Alias in Discord: Mailman

Dragon1-1 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Yeah, that's a RAZBAM thing. ED should add them to their aircraft, too. At the minimum, every land-based aircraft with wheels should have chocks. It would be especially great for the A-10C, because it has no parking brake (not that F-16's brake is much good when, say, doing a SEC check). 4
Northstar98 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 (edited) +1, fixed wing aircraft should have wheel chocks by default when cold starting. Furiz Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Why only land based? Carrier aircraft chocks are even more important, but nevertheless all aircraft should have them on when cold starting. 1

You're right, carrier aircraft have chocks too when parked. 1 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.
