Nooch Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 It's funny because the human race will be extinct in 100 years unless everyone stops eating animals and switches to solar energy. Oh wait that's not funny at all  The real issue is that we're too many on this planet. If Earth had a more reasonnable number of inhabitants we could eat all the meat we want and it wouldn't be issue. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

The real issue is that there is certain people that want people to think that so they can justify population control (Fluoride in water systems, GMO Mosquito's (!), Wars, GMO foods, ect.) TomOnSteam Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) The real issue is that we're too many on this planet. If Earth had a more reasonnable number of inhabitants we could eat all the meat we want and it wouldn't be issue. I do agree that we should be talking about population control now - some people want to wait until it becomes a problem, but that to me just means it will be harder to fix. Countries like India are already starting to do something about it - such as offering free cars to men who decide to have the 'snip' operation. Given that around 50% of children in some countries are accidents, this is a great idea for the countries where it applies. But for many first world countries this isn't necessary because for example in Germany the birth rate is an average of 1.3 children per family, so the population will naturally decline without any intervention. That's why I hope everyone starts talking about it, as each country will have different ways to apply an appropriate and reasonable solution. But we also know that the countries that have the largest populations eat the least amount of meat, it is the high consumption of animal products by first world countries that is causing most of the environmental problems. We're talking something along the lines of 50-100 billion animals being bred each and every year (with many of these animals like cows being larger than humans). So even if only 1 billion humans lived on earth, and they lived only in USA and Western Europe , then those 1 billion people would still have around 50+ billion animals breeding for our consumption, with forests being destroyed to feed these animals, their waste poisoning oceans, their methane and c02 creating global warming and all of it's extinction effects. The problems aren't also just to do with the amount of animals, but the farming practices - such mass antibiotics use, which will sooner or later become a doomsday scenario. Thanks to overuse of antibiotics in animal farming we've created bacteria that have evolved to be immune to antibiotics. This might end up being the population control that is needed, but certainly it will be killing people randomly, where to me it makes more sense to control the population not by death, but by slowing birth (as it doesn't hurt anyone then). As we know money talks, and governments are reactive to the people when it comes to social change. So in my eyes the solution is to vote with your wallet. Do not buy meat/dairy/eggs/fish - if enough people do this then it will have an impact. I know it seems very strange, but it is as easy as eating a bean burger instead of a beef burger :) I guess that was a very long way of saying, we need to do everything possible which is: eat far far fewer animals products, stabilize the population, and use clean energy. The change will only happen if we as individuals make these changes. EDIT....and because this is the funny section after all.... :) Edited October 7, 2016 by TomOnSteam --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode
kolga Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 ...their methane and c02 creating global warming and all of it's extinction effects. If CO2 is causing global warming, and they tell you to plant a tree to stop it, then why does high pressure CO2 make plants grow much better? And why do a lot of statistics show that CO2 levels have followed temperatures? (No hostility intended, we should probably continue this discussion in PM since its a little OT) "Long life It is a waste not to notice that it is not noticed that it is milk in the title." Kuky Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) You do know plants use CO2 for the photosynthesis and release Oxygen? CO2 does trap heat energy more so more of it does trap more heat. Also have you ever noticed that bush area is cooler than area with no plants/trees? It's because plants absorb sun energy, and creates shade, so ground/soil gets less hot also. Plants do indeed help reduce temperature. I would have thought this is common knowledge which should be taught in school. alright, sorry for not being funny Edited October 8, 2016 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Would be easier if they didnt build the runways 50' long and a mile wide! Yeah, I see your problem. The thing is, formation take-offs are much safer this way. Just imagine launching a whole squadron at once - how else would they do it?
