Idle_Wild Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Hi all the AV-8B feature list is complete https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/av8bna/ product sustainment continues however. Thank you I can't find a detailed operations manual anywhere and that's on their feature list. I also can't load a GBU-54 which is also on their feature list.

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 9, 2020 ED Team Posted September 9, 2020 I can't find a detailed operations manual anywhere and that's on their feature list. I also can't load a GBU-54 which is also on their feature list. Manual is being address by RAZBAM, RAZBAM will be waiting for us to finish the GBU-54 for the A-10C II I imagine, which will be in the near future. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? laertesson Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) Razbam’s behavior and actions in this train wreck of a thread (not to mention throughout the life of the Harrier and this forum) have ensured they’ll never get another buck from me. I think they’re in over their head in many ways (except of course artwork and new models, they’re sure good at that, but that’s not why we play DCS.) Edited September 9, 2020 by laertesson
bkthunder Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 the module isn't garbage, or unplayable. The biggest issues I am seeing right now are poor communication, don't make things worse on that point but "over exaggerating", please. Nine line, I guess you haven’t really had a deeper look at the Harrier otherwise you’d know the issue is not just poor communication. Of the module is garbage or not is very subjective. At this point for me it is garbage. It is useless. Let’s stick to objective facts: 1. The harrier is a finished product (out of EA) 2. There is a product description 3. The product that is sold DOES NOT MATCH that product description Imagine someone buying the Harrier today. They would do so based on the description on the store. They would quickly proceed to realize that, indeed, what they have paid for doesn’t include the features listed in the description, and that the features it does include are bugged or not working. They would then have all the reasons in the world to ask for a refund. Now, for me and many other here the situation is only slightly different, as we have bought it during the EA period. However we still bought it based on the official description and expecting the product to reach release in a reasonable amount of time, in a state that matches the official description. So, the fact the Harrier is now released means a simple thing: ED and Razbam are selling one thing, and delivering another. - Scam - Misleading advertising - Fraud are some of the words that are commonly associated with companies that engage in this type of behavior. I don’t really think ED went into this on purpose, but now unless you clearly steer away and correct the situation, ED does actively engage in an unlawful behavior. Can we please have an official statement from ED about how they intend to rectify the situation? P.S. the Hawk was never released out of EA IIRC, Veao went out of business and never delivered the final product, in a way that means they didn’t really have to stick to the product description as they went bust before completion. The situation here is much different: Razbam is not bankrupt and the product is officially fully released. ED Team NineLine Posted September 9, 2020 ED Team Posted September 9, 2020 Sorry bk, I need a little more than that. What exactly makes it useless to you? I am just talking to you specifically. I asked people to PM me their list of missing features, I had one person. I have seen 2 things from the store text missing, one is waiting on us, one has been explained (the manual). I know there are bugs and other issues, and we are getting many of them reported internally. I know there are some fixes coming for some of the bigger issues as well. But tell me personally why the Harrier is useless to you, what makes it unplayable. I am not being a smart ass, or joking, I am totally serious. And anyone else is welcome to do this. What makes the Harrier unplayable or broken to you. Those are the things I want to see addressed first. jasonbirder Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Manual is being address by RAZBAM, As the manual hasn't been published (yet) how can the module be described as "out of Early Access" UNLESS ED is specifically saying & condoning that a feature complete & released module of a full-fidelity Plane DOESN'T require a manual? What is ED's stance on this?
naizarak Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 if ED has confidence in the quality of its products and professionalism of 3rd party devs, then they should start offering refunds

What is ED's stance on this? We talked to them, and apparently there was a miss-communication, that the manual was supposed to be done, but was held up by COVID (this is based on feedback from Baltic Dragon). They are going to get that addressed as soon as they can. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Harlikwin Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 But tell me personally why the Harrier is useless to you, what makes it unplayable. I am not being a smart ass, or joking, I am totally serious. And anyone else is welcome to do this. What makes the Harrier unplayable or broken to you. Those are the things I want to see addressed first. Allright, to me the issue is that the weapon systems modeling is all funneled to a the master computer (MC). This modeling is either broken or non existent as are many of the systems that feed the MC. In a simple case you wanna drop a bomb on target. You find target with the ARBS which gives you the range/Height over target (HOT). Problems here are: no contrast lock modeled at all, video res is all wrong, but most egregiously and the angle rate solution is instant and perfect (which it should not be, the ARBS has to meet specific angle track rates for certain periods of time to determine range, this is well known, and not "sekrit".) In fact harrier pilots using the arbs would fly certain profiles so that the system would work, currently you need to none of this in DCS because its not modeled. So once the ARBS has the the HOT, it has certain ways of accounting for moving targets (not modeled), or also wind effects on the aircraft (movers and winds are handled in a similar way in the real AC). None of this is modeled, so if your target is moving, or there is any crosswind, you will miss. In case your ARBS for some reason isn't working or you don't have a good solution, other sensors are used to get that HOT, radar alt/gps alt/ baro alt. All which have their problems if the ground isn't perfectly level. I.e. hilly terrain. Currently it totally doesn't matter as none of these effects, beyond a hud symbol changing are modeled AFAIK. These are the problems effecting every unguided delivery model in the harrier. The TGP can be your source of target info, and again, to get good precision you should have to use the laser ranger to get that HOT, and to my knowledge you don't have to. And this is a "simple" case example. I mean I believe that at some point the "res" issues with the TGP's will get fixed in some unified fashion, so that's a more minor issue. But the fact that how an entire core system like the ARBS/MC is left in this arcade like mode is a major beef for me. As is the entire toss delivery mode (which would even better if I could setup burst heights for CBUs). It would like not modeling the AGR on the Viggen level of bad IMO. And this is an issue thats been brought up time and time again here for several years. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

SGT Coyle Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 As far as missing keybinds go ED needs a clause to exact a fine for every missing key bind per unit sold. You do that and the missing keybinds issue will disappear. But, I forget. ED doesn't release modules out of EA. Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS
