They are not only awfully out of place in their matt concrete grey liveries but get in the way of where the airliners we do have liveries for (via mods) would go.

 

As a minimum it would be very nice to to be able to get rid of them without also culling the entire Emerates terminal in Dubai (for instance).

+1 I'd say the same for static vehicles and ships, they're much easier to add than to take away (provided we have the models available)

I use the Scenery Remove Objects Zone trigger action to remove most of these default airliners, however there are a few airports where the airliners are connected to the terminal and removing the airliner results in a removal of the whole terminal even if it is not touching the trigger zone.

 

I reported a case for Nevada, but no one at ED took notice nor acknowledged it:
