Same here, buddy. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
VMFA117_Poko Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 ... and here. Can't remember how many times I wrote it down here today that I find it really hard to wait.
Doggy Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Is there anyone who CAN wait?:D ... :no_sad: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] C2D E4500@3GHz + Scythe Katana , 2GB/800, GF9600GT@720 (GV-NX96T512HP), Cyborg Evo, Freetrack (2.2), Samsung 20" @1680x1050, Fortron BSII 400W (peak 430W), Win7 HP x64
Boberro Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Me ^^, for now we have FC :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
BeachAV8R Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 It's gonna sound like a stupid suggestion..but in the interim, if you haven't tried out the old classic Vietnam MedEvac or Search & Rescue 4..they are actually quite good in the helicopter physics department. Not exactly cutting edge graphics..but maintaining a hover in crappy weather or sling loading supplies into a base can be pretty cool. Short article I wrote a few months ago here: http://www.simhq.com/_air10/air_322a.html And a short movie: http://www.simhq.com/_downloads/air/Vietnam_MED_EVAC/vietnam.zip I know it isn't a real good substitute..but it might get you in "rotorhead" frame of mind.. ;) BeachAV8R
joey45 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 have both [and very good games] but I can't get my 52 to work with them. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. BeachAV8R Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 have both [and very good games] but I can't get my 52 to work with them. Yep..same problem for me. Actually, I *can* get them to work, but the problem is the collective axis is being reported as the little slider there under your thumb on the throttle. The cyclic works fine..and I actually learned to fly the helos using that little slider. By the way, the trick to getting the X52 to work *at all* in Vietnam MedEvac, for me, was to leave the controller unplugged until you start a mission, then plug it in right when it goes to the splash screen where it says the mission is loading. If I left my X52 plugged in, the controls would default to a diving left bank. The lack of controls mapping is a shame..and the fact that the UH-1 sounds like a Eurocopter Dauphin... ;) BeachAV8R 1

Force_Feedback Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 You gonna live for 92+ years? Good luck with that :/ This will be the best heli FM so far, no doubt about it. And an ejection seat for when you mess up, or have microcumulative holes all over the thing :) Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
joey45 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 'the slider' didn't even think of trying that.... might have to do a re-install. Thanx mate The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. experimental_pilot Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Where is this "New Video"? Its not on the DCS site and I don't see a thread about it?
EvilBivol-1 Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Where is this "New Video"? Its not on the DCS site and I don't see a thread about it?Thread is here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=29554 The video itself is at the bottom of the SimHQ article. To all - we really enjoy and appreciate your enthusiasm and support for this project. However, I'd warn you against setting it up as some kind of simulation panacea. Black Shark will certainly set some new standards for PC-based military flight sims - especially in regard to player-controlled aircraft modeling - but it will also fall short of some others. Like all sims that have come before it and all that will come after, it will be a balance of accomplishments and shortfalls. One ED staff member put it this way - if simulation 'B' is part of a line of simulation products, than you can expect it to be better than simulation 'A', but not as good as simulation 'C'. In other words, Black Shark takes many important steps in the right direction, but it still leaves a lot of room for further development, which ED fully plans on pursuing in the DCS product line, of which Black Shark is only the beginning. I think we have gone further than most developers in trying to discuss the product carefully, honestly and realistically in pre-release. If anyone accuses us of "hype" or false promises after release, they better have evidence collected, because it has been our focus to avoid these traps. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. BeachAV8R Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Well stated EB. I think accolades for its achievements and acknowledgments of where it can do better in subsequent versions is a good attitude to take. I figure by the time DCS gets to the Tornado add-on release they'll have perfected it.. ;) (Just kidding guys..but I do hope they would consider it.. :D ) BeachAV8R
mvsgas Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 For what it counts, I know all simm/games have short falls and, in my case, are expected. I have played many games simms (as I sure many of you have) that had a ton of short fall but where so fun to play. If BS just give me the Flight model it seems to promote, I think I would be happy. I can see a lot of online friends just getting together on line, have a few beers ( or prefer refreshing drink) and make fun of each others flying. Who has the worst hover or the worst landing, ect. I think that alone will be fun, just flying. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

vCSG3 Bloat 203 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 never played Gunship 2000... I used to play it on my modded 8MB RAM amiga - it was by far the best helicopter simulator to date, imho :D :pilotfly: BrotherBloat
Canada Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Wow, great video. I was expecting to see the damage model in action, though. I've always been fascinated by realistic destruction in computer games. Is that something we could see in the (near) future ? Pretty please ? Helicopters fly.

Boberro Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 FSX with all best addons, Global 2008, xGraphics ect is simple amazing - of course on good PC :D. But when we gain graphics we lost avionics, realism of planes unfortunetely. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... VMFA117_Poko Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I always put realism before graphic. That's why I fold in love with Flanker 1.0 in an instant where wasn't any textures - just pure vector graphic and amazing FM.
