Thank you very much for your great work! The mod for the A-10C II works fine. But the one for the classic A-10C does not - at least not for me. I can choose your cockpit in the speacial options for A-10C, but it has no effect in game. No complaint, just wanted to give you the info. I have VR-shaders installed and your mods with OvGME.

Is it possible to get a mod that just removes the baked in reflections that does not alter the HUD? I really like you mod, but sometimes it is a little too dark und I would like the option to restore the original HUD, but without the reflections.

You installed it to "Saved Games" with OvGME?

And I'm not seeing baked reflection in the default cockpit anymore.  I did see a new folder I didn't see before so I think ED made some changes to the old cockpit.  Try reinstalling A10C.

Yes, both mods. But now that you posted those comparison screenshots, I see my mistake. The mod for the A-10C II tints the HUD glass significantly darker than the cockpit windows. While the mod for the classic A-10C tints them equally. I was expecting the same contrast between HUD and windows, so I thought the mod didn't work at all. Now I see that both of them work, but differently.

Me neither. They are not there by default for the classic A-10C. So no need to remove them there. But for the A-10C II it would be nice to have the option to remove them while keeping the original HUD brightness.

Many thanks for your reply 🙂

If you want the reflections, you need to revise the description.lua file and delete the lines with "glass_Reflect".

Just do the reverse.

Hi,

I love your MOD and I use the version "For Old A10C HUD Fix Only" for the A-10C.

In Stable it is perfect, but in OpenBeta the HUD is much to dark. Can you check it, please?
Maybe we need two versions until OB is merged into stable?

SYSTEM: Mainboard MSI MEG X570 | CPU Ryzen 7 5800X @ 4.5 GHz | RAM 64 GB @ 3200 MHz | GPU GIGABYTE RTX 4090 | 1 TB SSD | Win 10 x64

DEVICES: ASUS 27" LCD | TrackIR 5 | LukeClip | Quest 3 | PointCTRL | Virpil HOTAS | MFG Crosswind | TableMount MonsterTech

MODULES: To much to list. But I stopped buying more, because of too much bugs in e.g. A-10C(II). @ED: Fix the bugs and I spend money on modules again. Promised.

I don't have legacy A10C installed anymore.  And then legacy version for 2.5 and 2.7... I'm having hard time keeping track of what was changed.

You might try downloading the A10C-II version and copy the a10c_cpt_taz_glass_Diffuse.dds from that file to the Legacy version mod.

Hi Taz,

thank you. I had to rename the file and than it work.

Here is a working version for A-10C in OpenBeta:

Taz1004_A10C_Cockpit_OpenBeta.zip

Maybe you can add it to the first post. So it is easier to find for other people.

Install:  Choose a version to download.  Extract "Liveries" folder into your \SavedGames\DCS\  Then choose the cockpit version from Options - Special

Legacy A10C HUD Fix Only (2.5.6)

Legacy A10C HUD Fix Only (2.7)

Hi Taz, I put the contents in my saved games folder but get no other option under Options-special in DCS. Is it still working?

Yes it works.  You have to put the Liveries folder from the mod into \Saved Games\DCS\

So it should read

\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\A-10C-2020-CPT\Taz1004 Custom Aged\

I must have an old version. Mine reads A-10C-2019-CPT and inside Taz1004 Custom. Does it matter that I have another custom livery (outside of the hog) in a folder called A-10CII also in the Liveries folder?

You downloading Legacy version?  Legacy is for old A10C.  Not A10C-II.

I didn't really understand what you mean by outside of the hog.  But folder inside Liveries folder are independent.

Ahh. okay. Thanks, did not know. With outside I mean the outside of the hog, custom livery. Was not sure if this would interfere in one way or the other. I did not see that the current files were linked under the bold titles. Just clicked on the underlined Legacy. Oops. Installed the current version. Works fine. Thanks again.

I can see how it could be confusing.  So I reformatted the first post.

It seems to me that I understood how it works and made myself a mod. 😁
