Version 1.2.0 GA#2 of the OpenXR-Toolkit has an option to log fps/frame time to a csv file. From the release notes:

  • Support writing FPS/frame times to a CSV file (saved under %LocalAppData%\OpenXR-Toolkit\stats).

Release General Availability #2 (1.2.0) · mbucchia/OpenXR-Toolkit (github.com)

Yep, not looked at it yet though, from what edmus says it's interesting.

I am currently following you settings recommendations, using OpenXR, and have added the sharpening menus. Everything in DCS looks great (will be tweaking the sharpening menus for quite some time!) but I just have 1 issue. I’m forced to reduce textures to Medium for the AH-64 Apache as VR in High looks very unstable. All other modules, including the Huey work fine in High. Any known fix for this? Thanks in advance.
I’m running a i9 11900 KF, 32G Ram, RTX 3080 GPU.

not really the apache is still very early in it's release and hasn't been fully optimised yet... you can try using the 3dmigoto and using that to turn off the rotor for the Apache, in open xr i am normally at a solid 30fps with it... hope that helps

Definitely, actually I’m pretty happy with textures medium. Kind of like seeing the rotor and everything else works great. So will leave as is for now. Thought at 1 point OpenXR was going to address the rotor/stability issue. Anyway, thanks again for all your help and for all the work you put into this!

theres also a cockpit reduction mod that brings the textures down to 2k instead of default 4k. Highly recommended.

Probably should have been more specific. I see you’re using FFR in Quality/Wide. Thought I read somewhere in your original post that you are now using FSR as well? If so, can you pass along that setting? Not at my computer so I don’t have the FSR settings handy. Thanks

@speed-of-heat or @Hammer1-1

How did you install the 2k mod for the Apache?

I downloaded it, but the instructions was not working for me.

I found the Saved games folder, but had no Liveries folder, so I made one and dropped it inside there, but no joy. I also renamed the default cockpit folder. Just ended up with no cockpit at all. Just internal of the helicopter.

This is not a thread for that mod

But you have to make folders for each pit, please refer to the mods readme

@speed-of-heat what CPU were you using before you switched to the Alderlake?

Super thanks. I was wondering what the performance difference would be between a i9-10900K @ 5GHz and your Alderlake. There might not be a lot in it.

depending on the workload and the silicon lottery about a 10% uplift between an i9 10k and and an i7 12k

in favour of the 12 series

Hi @speed-of-heat, hope you are fine

Going from 3080ti to 4090, I would have liked to do some bench before 🙂

WIth your track 276, I don't understand why I go now into the ground just before going long the river...

do you have another track for testing and compare ? thanks !

Hi,

I made some tests with your last perf track replay, with a 12600k, Reverb G2, 3080Ti, HIGH settings, no mods, I have this :

nullimage.png

Would you have something similar ?

I don't really understand why I have lower GPU FT and higher FPS but that's what OXRTK gave me.

I can notice in this case :

1-Without any tweak, OXR is almost same than SVR

2-Balanced VS Wide doesn't bring a lot

3-FFR doesn't bring what I expected : not so much difference between NO FFR and FFR, I was assuming more

To discuss 🙂

At present they haven’t changed from what I had previously, but I’m considering dropping shadows for the time being as they seem to be related to some of the perf changes.
