What about a real Gripen simulator?

I like this better than the MFD(?) on F-35, but I am pretty sure this is no touch screen.

Lots of information about how Gripen systems works in this video. May Gripen C mod could have this hud.

The JAS-39 Gripen DCS mod has received a major update with many new features and improvements. The cockpit has been completely overhauled with new textures, animations, and lighting. The pilot model has been updated, and a new HMD has been added for all variants. There is now a new Within Visual Range (WVR) variant with HMD and weapon cueing. The cockpit now has additional functionalities, including interior lighting, autopilot, and radar controls. The mod has received many bug fixes and improvements, including new engine and APU sounds, fixed control schemes, and improved gamepad and keyboard support. However, there are still some known bugs, including issues with compatibility with some other mods and limitations with the SFM during ground handling and slow regimes. Overall, this update brings exciting new features and improvements to the JAS-39 Gripen mod.

Thanks!

There is no complete manual for it. But there is some documentation in the 'Documentation' folder.

You also have the kneeboard in the cockpit. 👍🏻

why is the fps so low in cockpit in vr? if press f2/outside i have +40-50% more fps. 80-90 vs only 45fps inside.

Hello!
This relates to my rig as well, which is p.i.t.a. and I don't fly it currently because of this.
Furthermore, since installation of the updated mod, the standard engine sound of the F-15 is also different (mod overwrites it?)
Other issue: the nosewheel steering simulation is kind of weird. If I taxi at approx 1 m/s or slower, the aircraft starts rotating wild. Not the F-15 implementation?

Maybe unplayable to you, but I can fly it just fine 🙂

I was confused by the thread about the issues, which states somewhere: "It's not a bug, its a problem with all SFM's. In the next update it will be fixed cuz they'll change it to a EFM." So I wished it was fixed / improved. Anyway, I don't fly it anymore since in VR I can't even get 45 fps (other modules like the F-16 at 65 fps, F-14 at 55 fps) which is very sadly far below ALL other modules I am currently owning. What can I do in terms of optimization on this module?

Optimization will be down the road, the team members wanted to share what they worked on for over a year. Remember that this is a community project that we do free of charge in our spare time. Comparing this mod to the F-16 or the F-14 is ridiculous. You can't really do anything besides joining the team and learning to code and model or be patient and wait until we get to it.

Thanks whisky for your answer!
In the meantime, I will try to figure out how I can increase the fps a bit. Maybe the Display Resolution setting affects the fps, or other settings.
Once I find something out, I will post it here, maybe the one or the other can use this information.

Gracias

You could try to reduce the update time of the luadevices, a lot have it at 0.01s. Which is unnecessary fast.

Also having several hundreds of indicator elements (especially texture based ones) may cause fps drop.

Yes, I did.
Note that I used my older rig for the flights and the postings above (which is not listed below in my signature).
It was Intel i7-6700 @4.4GHz with GTX1070 and Oculus CV1 and OpenXR (optimized for high fps).

Where do I change this setting?

Example:

https://github.com/whisky-actual/Community-JAS-39-C/blob/Master/Mods/aircraft/JAS39/Cockpit/Scripts/HMD/Device/HMD_Device.lua#L3

https://github.com/whisky-actual/Community-JAS-39-C/blob/Master/Mods/aircraft/JAS39/Cockpit/Scripts/Systems/Canopy.lua#L7

Check the files beloe Cockpit/Scripts folder. Everything smaller than 0.02 is most likely not necessary.

To test if its caused by indicator elements you can remove these lines https://github.com/whisky-actual/Community-JAS-39-C/blob/Master/Mods/aircraft/JAS39/Cockpit/Scripts/device_init.lua#L54-L156

But then the HUD and MFD will not longer display anything. So it's just to identify the cause of the low fps.

Copy, thank you for the advice!
I will check once I am back on my lower spec rig.
