Presumably this would be especially useful in VR.

We have currently no idea how it even works in VR. Since it's a periscope design, I assume that it has "depth" vision, in real life I mean?

BN said on Discord that the scope in VR needs tweaking and is currently WIP. You get a black box pop up and can see terrain and that will change. So don't expect much today. Just saying.

For the record: Even if I didn't have VR, I'd love to see this for TIR usage or even just using the keypad and/or snapviews.

For those who didn't already know, you auto enter it by using L-Alt+A. It full screens the scope, and VR you just see a big window always in front of you for it, but you can kinda see the cockpit outside your peripheral (at least on Index). Personal opinion is this isn't a bad usage, as it doesn't require physically using the scope which would be a nightmare to setup for VR compared to everything else they've done.

I honestly can't see how that will work with the scope, that's really a small area. Maybe a small popup window that acts like a display.

Yeah, but when you put your face up to it, it suddenly occupies most of your FOV.

Ye I tried that. It's a awkward position xD.

Just to give you guys an idea how it looks like:

2D screen is not ideal. I hope they find a solution in the future. The worst part is the animation for 2D where the camera moves towards the scope. Your head is kinda stuck to the right side inside the scope and it's really uncomfortable in VR when things are too close. Your instincts say to close the eyes.

Maybe they could simulate having both eyes open in both VR and on a screen. Right eye in the sight and the left eye open to watch the missile controls and sensing helicopter movement.

Here is how it looks when you move your head near to the scope in VR. I think something can be done here.

Yeah, if you set-up that such that it's like what the Viggen has then that would be perfect, especially in VR.
