The AI, not the flyable one.  They always said the A-6 was at then end of roadmap coming after the Eurofighter and the then unannounced F-4.  This just means they've completed enough stuff to start putting more work into both the AI and flyable A-6 so don't expect anythin besides the AI this year and probably the next as well.

Modules: F-14A/B, F/A-18C, F-16C, F-4E, F-5E, FC3, AV-8B, Mirage 2000C, L-39, Huey, F-86, P-51, P-47, Spitfire, Mosquito, Supercarrier

Maps: Persian Gulf, Syria, NTTR, Marianas, Normandy 2, Channel, Kola

Upcoming Modules Wishlist: A-1H, A-7E, A-6E, Naval F-4, F-8J, F-100D, MiG-17F

Oh now that's disappointing. This has taken forever.

But thank you for your response. So the F4 has over taken the A6 .

It always had.  With the announcment of the A-6 AI and the clear level of detail they were doing, the community asked too many questions and they decided to reveal the flyable version way earlier than they wanted to.  The same thing goes for the F-4 really.  Nosy players that we are and always itching for iconic aircraft asked too many questions so they revealed that early as well to stop the rumor machine.  The newest update makes it sound like it will be developed while they are doing the Eurofighter and that the process was speeding up.  This was due to a more experienced team and streamlined development procees along with the Jester 2.0 improvements which are supposed to make it easier to transfer it over to new modules.

I agree it's taken a long time and I'm definitely getting impatient waiting on pretty much all the stuff HB has planned, but I get why they can't do everything at once or release early.  So far as I've read, we're supposed to get the AI A-6 and early F-14A to get the F-14 clear of early access as well as the initial release of the F-4E all this year.  Next (2025 at earliest most likely) will be the Eurofighter closely followed by the flyable A-6E.  After that, we'll be seeing whatever naval variant of the F-4 they are going to make.  Hopefully it all happens quicker with their new streamlined process, but no one really knows at this point.

I am not surprised, with all respect to A-6, the F-4 is expected to be one of the most selling modules in DCS. Probably several times the projected sales of A-6.

It's not my roadmap it's Heatblur's.

The F-4 didn't get announced before January 2022 with the video unless there was a post late 2021 I missed or something.  There was just the HB logo for an unnanounced module on the roadmap before the F-4 was revealed.

@Porco Rosso There has not been any information on the A-6. The Eurofighter is likely the next one to appear. After, the Intruder might be forthcoming. Heatblur has not said anything new lately.

EF for sure is the next one, then the A-6.

  • Thanks 1

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

@MiG21bisFishbedL The Eurofighter will have the Europeans, especially the Getmans, celebrating its arrival. After, others on the other side of the Big Pond will celebrate the Intruder.

No need to rumor about it. This has been officially stated a few times, especially on our Discord and in the news channel there.

The EF is supposed to be HBs next DCS module. The flyable A-6 afterwards.

What about the AI A-6E? That was slated to be released around summer 2023 per HB's official Facebook:

There is no ETA on it, but it is being worked on and HB has occasionally shared news about it in Discord. For example that artwork has finished and integration work has begun 🙂
