My experience is this

In multiplayer, as CPG I

  • don't get aural RLWR warnings for SAM sites
  • don't get visual ASE indications for SAM sites
  • don't get aural warnings for missiles
  • do get aural warnings for AI aircraft, such as E3 or Mig 29, both searching and tracking (unsure about player aircraft)
  • do get visual ASE indications for air radars on the ASE and TSD pages

As pilot I get all warnings and indications as expected.

In SP I do get all indications and warnings regardless of which seat I am in.

Dedicated server or hosting from the MP browser?

Dedicated. Either way if ED's programmers had any sense it shouldn't matter. But then again you get funny bugs like switches behaving differently depending on if the power is on or not. And I don't mean like solenoid held switches, but the windscreen wiper knob. Or funny bugs like the radio selectors working differently depending on if it was a hot or cold start. Ridiculous. In my opinion they should cease all feature work for half a year and instead do a big refactoring, and then nothing but bug squashing. There is so much apparent code duplication, and every copy is behaving differently. Sure, it would stall stuff out, but in the end all future development would be a lot simpler, faster and bug free. And if there is a bug you need to fix it once, not everywhere you copy and pasted your faulty code. And then you write a unit test to prevent regression.

ED's developers do an amazing job, giving us the best combat flight sim there is. And then you get stuff like this that just shows what a catastrophe the codebase must be. You get the same sensors providing the same information to the same screens. And yet there are 2 different results in the same aircraft. This should be impossible. But yet here we are, 2 different implementations for the same thing in the same aircraft. One works, the other one does not. If they do use the same code, which they should, then the code doesn't get the same input. Otherwise it would produce the same output, clearly.

Well, I will quote myself:

AFAIK it is stil an issue, but possibly only on dedicated servers.

Your report seems to confirm this.

Any news? I feel like I'm going mad and start hearing voices that my CPG can't hear. It's a shame something like this gets commented once by someone associated with the dev and then put to hold

This error is still present and very annoying. Over 1 year has passed since the reporting, when will this error be fixed?

Do you need more track files or similar? If yes, please send us a feedback.

Uhm, that issue fixed here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/openbeta/2.8.3.37556/

  • Fixed: Multi Crew ASE desync.

I fly a lot as CPG in the Apache and for me the issue disappeared with this fix.
It's not available on the Stable yet though.

I was flying as the pilot with a human CPG yesterday and he was getting missile warning indications while I only get the flashing directional light on the CMWS.

After the fix we still have the problem that the CPG does not get an audio warning. We are now trying to log this with a .trk file.

We suspect that this error only occurs after some flight time, regardless of the size of the mission.

Hmm, I was just flying as CPG two days ago and got the audio warnings. Make sure the CPG has turned his RLWR volume up, because it's set to 0 by default.

We have checked this several times, as well as our CMWS and ASE settings, in most cases the CPG hears no audio warning.

As I said, we are trying to generate a .trk file.

I was a CPG yesterday with my friend and that time we did a cold start as usual, but I turned on RLWR that time and we both were hearing the warnings. No CMWS warnings though. Not sure if this is replicable, he then crashed to desktop 5 times out of 5 sorties so we haven't tested this out🙃.

Yeah, the CMWS is only available for the pilot, so that's intended.
Edit: The CMWS audio should indeed be available to both crewmembers. See comment below.

CMWS control can only be performed by the pilot, because the panel for it is only in the aft crewstation, but both crewmembers should hear the audio alerts over the ADF audio channel. If one person hears it and the other does not, it's a bug (assuming they both have their ADF volume knobs turned up of course).

I've submitted an additional report regarding this issue, regarding RLWR audio, the CMWS audio, and to ensure the state of the ADF audio channel itself is being synced between clients. (ie, ensuring that one player doesn't hear NDB morse code audio over the ADF channel when the other is hearing CMWS audio over the ADF channel).

Oh, thanks, that was a bad assumption on my part then, as I always fly as a CPG and never heard the CMWS audio ever, so I just thought it's for the pilot only like all of the other CMWS indications and controls.
